  1. Every time I try to sign on I get the message that the software needed to sign on must be reloaded. Why was it erased at all?

    When working off line w/Microsoft Word I keep getting a reminder that the software needed to sign-on to AOL needs to be added. Your pop-up message contaminated my Word data file and now I can't erase, close or access the file. Thanks a lot. I lost 1/2 hours work and now the file is inaccessible! It seems your software is erased every time I log off. Why? Why? I've been a loyal customer for over 25 years and you are on the verge of losing me.

    I randomly experience the inability to log on. Also my version of AOL Gold does not get updated or that I have been so advised.
    know where to check for current version of AOL Gold would be helpful

    Being self employed creates enormous issues when the anomolies occur

  3. AOL Gold Email Issue with Sent From Name

    All emails I send out show to others as being sent from my husband. We have separate emails within AOL but my son and I are under his account. This was never an issue until we installed AOL Gold. I have called the help line and they cannot resolve it. There is no reason it should be doing this and after a year this is very frustrating. Please fix this issue.

  4. Return to 9.8.2 or create a NEW AOL

    AOL GOLD HAS NEVER worked out well - is in "Not Responding" mode always, wasting precious time for users plus many other negative modes that are of no service to users - AOL needs to get rid of AOL Gold & create a new system OR return to any of the old systems, which always worked out fine... thank you

  5. AOL Gold stinks... absolutely

    I've had an AOL subscription for more than 20 years and have saved my read email chain going back to the earliest days of my subscription. I've moved, relatively painlessly, through various versions of AOL desktop from its beginnings. But AOL Desktop GOLD is clearly more about distributing ADS than it is about the needs or wants of AOL subscribers. About six weeks into my AOL Gold experience, the desktop quit working completely and I had to call for support to get it to allow me to sign on with any user name.   6. POOR PERFORMANCE

    I HATE/ABHOR AOL DESKTOP GOLD. I have never seen such a total failure of a site that was previously working well for many. For this we are paying money??? Performance is horrible and, it is NOT my computer as I've had it checked out by experts who, BTW, echo sentiments about AOL. As soon as I can find a way to transfer all my favorites, saved data, emails, contacts, etc., this 30yr customer is HISTORY. Booo Hisss AOL...shame on you.

  7. What has happened with your spam control? Every email I have sent is now returning spam from that address

    Get spam control! I will have to leave AOL because I waste so much time dealing with this issue.

  10. Computer processor is working too hard

    My Computer processor is working too hard, making a lot of noise when ever signed on with AOL Gold. What is your software doing to my computer? The processor is constantly working as if it is computing some complex program or downloading / uploading a huge file/ Even if I am doing nothing. As soon as I sign off or shut down AOL Gold the noise goes away. Earlier versions of AOL did not cause the same symptoms. I am being exposed to harmful noise and my computer is being overworked. WHY?

  12. AOL appears to be interfering with basic functions of my laptop !

    Why is it that, all of a sudden, my "Print Screen" function will not work at all if I have AOL running? Extremely annoying! It works just fine if AOL is shut down, so it must be something to do with AOL.....

  13. What's the point in removing features for paying customers?

    Still not having received photos and messages sent from not only my own phone but those of family members from nearly a month ago, I decided to message my phone from my aol mail yesterday. I got the message but my phone informed me that "this user does not support replies" so, for years as a free member I was able to receive messages from my family to my aol mail, but now that I am a paying member again I can't?

  14. I don't like this new Desktop version. It is NOT AOL!

    I wake up this morning and my Desktop is now nothing like I'm use to. I do not like it. How can I use the OLD one where I can click on a story or just pass it by. Why has it changed? I don't know how to use this. Is this what other browsers look like? It's one of the reasons why I still use AOL. Would I have to find an earlier version?

    My OLD AOL desktop program would automatically disconnect from the braodband if the computer was silent for 10 minutes. AOL Gold does NOT do this. If I forget to sign out, it comtinues to be connected and use my broadband minutes for hours and hours or even days and days. Very VERY very frustrating. We need this to re reinstated into the Gold desktop.

  17. Problem with your phone service

    I just tried to call your 888 number and I get the computer voice telling me what to do but when I am transferred to a live person, there is just dead silence after the ringing stops. I tried going in through technical support first and it did it 3 different times and then tried going into customer support in case there was a problem with the technical phones but it happens in both places. So if you don't have anyone fixing your phone service, you have a problem.

  18. Keep being prompted to buy an additional aol desktop gold subscription

    I keep being prompted to pay for a desktop gold account for one of my user names. Why must I pay for another account when I already have one? It goes on to tell me that I will have to retrieve my email from aol.com if I dont purchase another gold account. Isnt this double dipping?

  19. Blocking Pop-Ups does not work, and articles cannot then be read. FIX IT!

    Click on any article with text, and you can't read it because pop-ups ads keep popping up -- even when you've selected to "Block all Pop-Ups." And, the same ads keep coming up. I lost count of how many times I've given up and clicked out of some article. AOL is beginning to have the same reputation that COMCAST has. POOR SERVICE!
