"Comments" section on AOL posted news articles
After reading an article accessed by clicking on the "Welcome" tab on AOL Gold Desktop, there is a "Comments" tab which gives you access to comments other people have made and you can make comments yourself. Occasionally, the user may make a comment that might be prohibited e.g. the use of a profanity word e.g. a comment like "That was a **** of a stupid thing to do"
So, a message will pop up that tells you that your comment is under review. That usually means your comment has been flagged by whatever algorithm AOL uses for such things. However,… -
Improve you news & update it
Your news articles/reviews seem to run for ever & many are pure garage. The interview on "best before dates" has run its course weeks age , take it off & not interesting in the least. Why not try & improving AOL's name by posting better articles/reviews, your news is boring. It makes me want to get rid of my AOL acct.

I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE NEWS EVERY TIME I LONG ON DURING THE DAY. THERE SHOULD BE AN OPTION TO SEE IT ONCE AUTOMATICALLY, WITH OPTIONS
IT'S OK TO SEE THE POP UP AUTOMATIC NEWS WHEN I FIRST LOG ON IN THE MORNING IN, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE WELCOME SCREEN NEWS IF I AM OFF AND ON THE COMPUTER SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, JUST WANT TO CHECK AND RESPOND TO MY EMAIL ETC. THERE SHOULD BE AN OPTION ON HOW MANY TIMES A DAY I AM FORCED TO LOOK AT THE WELCOME NEWS SCREEN BEFORE I CAN ACCESS MY EMAIL ALL DAY LONG. AND I AM VERY SURE THERE ARE THOUSANDS LIKE ME WITH THE SAME THOUGHT. GET REAL…

Fact check stories for new information, rather than repeat the original narrative.
AOL sometimes runs a story, based on media narrative, but leaves out facts learned after the event, which show the story was fabricated. ...then continue to running the story but discontinue comments. ...case in point, the article on George Floyd's actual cause of death is not given, while promoting the police brutality narrative. Not only was the cause of his death by police in question, but unfair to police rank and file, by lowering morale, making recruitment more difficult and emboldening criminals.....is this a direction we want to go?

PLEASE go back to the old homepage. A big picture with no description is a waste of time.

Headlines a flat out lie
Headline old thing of value, showing corning ware which I own, so I wanted to see what AOL say about this item, so I looked at all 200. NO corning ware anywhere, are you just stupid or you just want to **** off your customers. I dare you to explain why you let this happen

Popup news feed in lower left
The recent popup in the lower left blocks content and is extremely annoying., I can not understand why some individuals feel a need to change something that is work and think it is better. It is an extremely annoying and need to be removed. I do not like the recent Newsfeed changes and have discontinued viewing them until this is fixed!

what's new option
Every day, when signing onto aol desktop gold, I click on the what's new icon to see if there is anything new that I should know about. I always like new things, but I would like to know when the next build of aol will be available and what will be included.
At this moment in time, I have no way of knowing when the new build will be available.Let us know when the next build will be available and what will be included. An email would be nice.

Don't change the icons in the toolbar.
Keep the old icons and not erase the ones I have and replace them with hearts. I should be able to use any icon I come up with. I don't like someone sitting at a desk changing my banner without asking just because they think it's a good idea. You're coming close to losing me.

Browser used by AOL?
Does anyone know what browser AOL uses? I'm having problems opening some emails recently that I had no problems with previously. (Jokes and word play.)
Thanks! -
Yellow banner telling us to upgrade windows 7
We have a yellow banner saying "Microsoft has ended support for this version of Windows." extra extra extra.
I majored in computer networking so I know that this is just microsoft talking to us, but why do we have to be constantly reminded to upgrade windows 7.
I have no plans to move to either windows 8, windows 10 or windows 11. I don't like any of them. No offense to anyone that does.
Before we got a popup telling us the same thing, now it's a yellow banner.
There should be an option to not display this banner so…
