  2. AOL GOLD JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE

    I just spent an hour and forty five minutes trying to answer ONE e-mail.
    Mostly this software just runs endlessly and the screen locks up, making it completely USELESS. Nothing like going backwards.....I almost think that dial up was faster than this monstrosity. Trying to refrain from belligerence....20 years with AOL for this????? Depressing...

    This issue is fixed in the latest revision. Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “ About AOL“ from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1630, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload. If the issue persists after updating the AOL Desktop, please let us know.

    Insert pictures - quality of picture for email or printing - layout with options for picture size and layout - ability to comment on each picture - bring back the old - 9.8 write mail options

    The sign in errors and blerk notices have been fixed. We appreciate your understanding while our engineer team was looking into this. Please refresh the page or go directly to mail.aol.com to sign in.

  5. Thank's for taking those annoying ads of the write page but please bring back 9.8 so I can pick the sounds I want for my AOL greetings etc.

    Combine the best of both 9.8 and Gold and stop trying to make changes we don't want. I DO PAY for my AOL every month and will not continue to if you keep *****with it.

    The custom greeting sounds are now available with the latest update for the AOL Desktop Gold. To customize your greeting sounds, follow these steps:

    1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
    2. Click on the ‘Edit’ menu on the top left.
    3. Select ‘General Settings’ from the drop-down menu.
    4. Go to the ‘Personalization’ category on the left.
    5. Select the ‘Sounds’ tab.
    As an alternative you can go to the Keyword(CTRL+K): sounds.

    To choose the sound categories, click on the ‘Options’ button, and after selecting your preferred greetings click on ‘Apply’. You can also preview the sounds before and after applying them, by clicking on the Play button next to the sound name.

    If you do not have the custom greeting sounds, it means that you will have to upgrade your AOL Desktop Gold software to the latest revision. To do that, click on the ‘Help’ menu…

    Hello there, the Download Manager feature is now available with the latest update for the AOL Desktop Gold.

    For information on how to use the Download Manager, please check the following article: https://help.aol.com/articles/search-sort-and-manage-files-with-the-download-manager

    If you do not have the latest revision for the AOL Desktop Gold, please follow the steps below to update it:
    1. Open the AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click on “Help” on the top right and select “Check for Updates”. The update will be downloaded in the background.
    3. Leave the software opened for 10-20 minutes.
    4. Close and reopen the AOL Desktop Gold.

  7. To keep AOL maximized to this:

    Someone asked AOL how to keep the window maximized. AOLdid not have the answser. To keep windows maximaized do this: Right click on the AOL logo and then click on properties. On the General tab where it says "RUN" choose "Maximized." This works. I did it.

  9. How about providing a progress bar when we send email with attachments.

    Sometimes it seems that nothing is happening when we send an email with attachments. We could really use a progress bar.

  10. Please fix this!

    Once again I sent out an email. It was extremely slow in sending, and I just discovered it went out TWICE. This has happened many times. We run a small business. This is not acceptable business practice. Please fix this! I have talked to your tech people many times about this. Either fix Gold or give us back 9.8.2.

  11. Mail window doesn't stay maximized.

    Any time I maximize the mail window, it shrinks again when I do anything at all with mail. It drives me crazy. Please fix that.
    Or just let me use AOL 9.8. That would fix a lot of problems right there. Another one is not being able to access mail saved on my computer unless I sign in.
    Who's idea was AOL Gold? It is inferior all around.

    To enable the mailbox opening at startup please follow the steps: Edit > Startup settings > check the box next to “Mailbox”.

    Changes are saved automatically.

  15. If the cursor is already on the address line, it should stay there rather than dropping to the body of the letter when you start typing

    Why on earth does the spell check insist on identifying email addresses as something spelled wrong?!

    You need to keep the stock market quotes for portfolios up to date. Not having current quotes makes them useless. I'll have to shift to Yahoo or elsewhere if you can't do better.
