My account locked up with a voice and someone trying to save an exe file to my computer.
On 2018-06-27 at about 1:15 Eastern I was creating an email when a voice told me not to close my account, that my account was dangerously compromised. At the same time a save window came up with an exe file. I could not x it out. I could not cancel it. Everything else was unavailable. This had happened one other time. I immediately did a hard shut down and came back up and ran C Cleaner and Malwarebytes. This is disturbing that they can get through your controls so easily so lock up my computer. AOL Virus Protection and other "services"
One of the AOL technical "experts" assured me that the virus protection and programs for stopping worms, etc., are perfectly reliable and WOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH MY PREFERED VIRUS PROTECTION, TREND MICRO. So when my hard drive crashed I took it to Geek Squad and was told the AOL product was the culprit and to get it off immediately. After $300 and a new hard drive I would suggest you make sure your technical people know what they are talking about.

I'm Having MEGA Problems with my Gold. Today I looked in the Start menu and there is a (2) there beside the AOL GOLD Icon. So, I pulled up Properties on it and voila'. How can we correct this ? It reads in the START In field: C:\Users\michaelsPC When clicking the Compatibility field Tab in Properties it says: That this if folder is NOT Valid and make sure that the folder Exists and the Path is correct... HELP me as AOL keeps Locking up on me all day for Many DAYS Now since LAST NOVEMBER 2017 >.

Just happened to be looking around and I find a whole list of things in my spam folder which weren't there earlier. They SHOULD have been in a saved mail folder. What the **** are you people doing? AOL keeps going further and further down the tubes.

What's the point in removing features for paying customers?
Still not having received photos and messages sent from not only my own phone but those of family members from nearly a month ago, I decided to message my phone from my aol mail yesterday. I got the message but my phone informed me that "this user does not support replies" so, for years as a free member I was able to receive messages from my family to my aol mail, but now that I am a paying member again I can't?

What has happened to my e-mail? I am getting e-mails dating from 2014 in my inbox mixed in with todays. I have to sort through them.
I am getting e-mails from 2014 in my new mail...all mixed in with today's e-mails. When I go to sent mail, I am getting e-mails all the way back to 2009 and cannot find the e-mails which I sent today. There is no rhyme or reason for how they are coming up as to the date...it skips all around. I am really disappointed in how the service has been since we have begun paying each month....many problems!

Apparently
My OLD AOL desktop program would automatically disconnect from the braodband if the computer was silent for 10 minutes. AOL Gold does NOT do this. If I forget to sign out, it comtinues to be connected and use my broadband minutes for hours and hours or even days and days. Very VERY very frustrating. We need this to re reinstated into the Gold desktop.
