Unable to Edit Address Book/Contacts
I have been informed on 12/18/19 that the AOL Contacts/AddressBook is no longer editable...........after a 2 hour nightmare with online chat, remote sessions and phone calls.
They explained that it was a "migration issue" having something to do with Yahoo and AOL merging and that since then (almost a year ago)......any edit to an existing contact has not been saved. This is too ***** to be believed but this is what phone support told me after multiple consults with a "senior technician". I am PAYING for AOL--which is ridiculous enough--BUT they give you a Contact List that once a contact…
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. It’s certainly our expectation and desire that you receive the highest quality service when working with customer support. We’re sad to hear that it sounds like you did not.
Please go to mail.aol.com on an external browser (Safari, Chrome) and let us know if you are able to edit the Contacts.

I have a question I could not find the answer to. In my list of contacts how can I add a field at the top? I would like to be able to see which group they are in (i.e., family, friends, co-workers, uncategorized) Please send me an answer *********@verizon.net
You can go to mail.aol.com on a desktop computer or laptop. After logging in, click on “Contacts”, select the email addresses you want to create a list with. Then, on the top header select “New List”. Name the list, add contacts and then click on “Add list”.

Reactivate Contacts Search
Contact search was an option for YEARS. Why remove options? I it is very irritating to have to scroll!!!
This feature is still available. On the left column click on “Contacts”, then in the box under “Compose” click on the small arrow and select Contacts from the drop-down menu. Once selected, type in the contact name and hit enter on the keyboard or click on the magnifying glass icon.

fix fix fix ability to delete an email one time only
delete the same email one time only to include all of my devices and one time only on desktop. And don't undelete items automatically I've checked to delete. you are just unchecking them So awful. I"m guessing gmail doesn't do that.
And yes,I"ve already asked AOL support about deletion on one aol app does not delete on all aol apps on other devices. No solution.
If you are using multiple email clients, in order to make sure that the mail settings are synced between devices, you need to make sure that your devices are set up in IMAP, not POP. Here’s more info on this: https://help.aol.com/articles/what-is-the-difference-between-pop3-and-imap
Should you need help checking the email client settings, you can find instructions here:https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-use-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-aol-mail

Auto populate option in aol mail address is not working on all browsers(Edge,Firefox,Chrome).
Tried it on an android phone using crome browser and it worked fine.
Contacts are automatically populated.
The member is using HP LAPTOP-Q9CQODV5 running on Windows 10 Home 64 Bit.
As per the member it stopped populating a week ago and there were no any updates pushed on the computer.Go to mail.aol.com and click on Options> Mail Settings> Compose> Sending. Check Automatically add email addresses to Contacts. That should fix the issue.

Only use this account from Jan through May how can i keep the address from being deleted from year to year?
I only use this account from January through May. It is for a National Organization called The Order of Daedalian. They give out a national award every year to any high school that has ROTC. I contact them at the beginning of the year to see if they want the reward. The ROTC programs are run by retired Military personnel who at some point retire again. So i have to reach out every year I cannot just send them. How can I keep the addresses from disappearing every year>
To keep this account and not having those issues every year, you need to access the account at least once every 12 months.

GET REAL!!
Contacts are becoming increasingly harder to edit and save. I spend way, way to much time trying to enter information only to have the dreaded errors come up. You have forced me to send to my 280 legitimate club members in 4 different sends just to get one message out. I get returns on many of these e-mails. I have an idea... fix it before I leave. It's not like you haven't heard all this before from many others besides me. Sad because I have stuck with you since '99 and this has been my 1st and main e-mail account.…
We are unable to replicate your issue while editing contacts. We suggest that you clear your cookies and cache or try a different browser.
Unfortunately, what you’re looking for in bulk sending is no longer offered in the current version of AOL Mail. If you’ve received a notification that a limit of the number of sent emails was reached or you’ve sent to too many contacts, you’ll need to wait before you can send more emails.
Because of our antispam policies, we do not disclose the specific limits on the number of emails you can send or the number of contacts you can email at once. Nor do we disclose the waiting period before you can continue sending emails. I apologize for the inconvenience.

1st or Primary Contact's Email vs 2nd or Seconday Contact's Email
When I put a the first character of a person's email into the address line I get all the emails the person is associated with. I have gone into the "edit contact" many, many times to put the primary email of my contacts FIRST. I save and usually save several times to be sure but it keeps putting the 1st or primary email of my contact SECOND. Why won't it save!? I do not get an error, it says it was "saved", it just keeps changing it back!
For each contact you can add up to 3 email addresses, using the ScreenName, Email 1 and Email 2 fields. The ScreenName field will always be the primary address, but if the field is left empty the ‘Email 1’ will become the primary email address.
