Recurring failure notice won't stop
No clear way to stop a recurring Failure Notice. Not seeing any way to stop the same notice that is repeating more than 50 times in my Inbox and don't want to miss a new Failure Notice. There needs to be a Help answer for this.
Delete large groups of email
Should be able to delete more than 100 emails at a time. I search based on @emailaddress.com but can only delete 101 emails at a time. Consequently I have many tens of thousands of emails. :-(
Seriously requested feature
AOL was mostly a newbie app until it became part of Verizon, whose users tended to be more experienced. As one of the latter group, I am
perpetually annoyed by the confirmation prompts for spam and deleted files folders. I know why this 'feature' is there, but I'd appreciate the option to disable these to save the extra steps (many thousands of mouse moves and clicks and still counting).
Continue to enhance spam filters
I would like to know why I received a notice this evening (8/4/2021) that AOL did not recognize my laptop device as one used to log in previously. The laptop is the same one I have been using for over 3 years.
I used the security code sent to my cell phone. Just want to be sure nothing is wrong with any settings.
Third Party App Passwords
My email suddenly stopped sending and receiving (minutes after it was working fine) a few days ago. I use the desktop version of Outlook with POP/SMTP settings. After days of trying to fix it, I realized that I needed to generate an app password in the Account Security section of my Verizon AOL email account, and then enter that password in the Outlook settings (File - Account Settings - Server Settings). I talked to an AOL customer support representative (which unfortunately is not 100% free - I needed to sign up for a paid monthly service with the first 30 days free and the option to cancel - which I will be doing). That representative informed me that AOL announced a change 3-4 months ago, but that they have been rolling out the change little by little so that not all customers are affected at the same time. Here are my recommendations:
PLEASE inform your affected customers several days in advance of the anticipated changes so that they have a heads-up that something will be changing with their account - and could affect any third party software that they are using. Send along information and help articles to help them troubleshoot the anticipated changes. And if you do something along these lines, be sure NOT to do it too close to the anticipated change (just hours before, or notifying them after the change)- because if people can't access their email, they won't be able to see it on the affected device.)
I did find one article that ultimately helped me to fix the issue:
However, part of this article is confusing and I believe that the wording needs to change. It says,
"If you use AOL two-step verification or an older email app, you may need to use an app specific password to access AOL Mail. Just remember, app passwords are only valid for the app they are created for and remain valid until you sign out or remove access to the app. At that time, a new password will need to be created."
Notice it says that the app passwords are only valid ... until you sign out. I read this to mean that I would need to enter another app password again and again if I was not signed into AOL mail. The AOL support representative said the meaning was really until you delete that email account from your device. The words "Sign in" and "Sign Out" are used extensively for simply signing in and logging out of apps (and for online shopping, etc.) Please clear up the wording on this article.
3) When I did call customer support, I asked the representative to pass along the feedback that I gave above. I was told that he was unable to do so because he is in support. This is unacceptable. Your technical support representatives should be able to submit concerns from customers so that they can be addressed.
4) When I realized that the support agent was not going to send my feedback to anyone, I asked him how I could send feedback - and reiterated that I needed to sign up for a paid subscription just to be able to talk to him. At first, since we were already looking at the article at https://help.aol.com/articles/allow-apps-that-use-less-secure-sign-in. he instructed me to look at the bottom of the page and that I could use the links that said, "Talk to Us", "Email Us", or "Chat with Us". All three of those links send me to https://help.aol.com/contact/ - which only gives phone number options -- which would send me to the same type of AOL support agent who I talked to, who said he was unable to pass along my concerns. After a bit more searching he found the "Feedback" link at the top right corner of the article, so I'm posting here. I also notice that this is in more of a message board format, so there is no way for someone to reply to me directly in the way that they could with an email.
I expect far more as a customer of Verizon/AOL mail – and even more so after I have just signed up for a subscription.

Slideshows on AOL are the worst feature
You need to offer a reader version--some of your slideshows look interesting but I won't read them because of the unnecessarily annoying format requiring clicking to each page (which often repeat facts already provided). It's really archaic to still be offering stories this way unless you really don't want anyone reading them.
Give me my old AOL mail
You automatically sent me an update to AOL mail to my IPad. This upgrade does not work. I can't read six emails and keep getting old emails that are marked as new. Customer for 30+ years and if not fixed, not much longer.,

I have followed the instructions for changing my CompuServe email in Thunderbird (delete account, then re-add it). It does not work. If I log in via Firefox I see my mail, but Thunderbird fails to see it. Here's the kicker, I have an old yahoo address that I apparently used my CompuServe address as a secondary contact. If I send mail to that yahoo address, it shows up in both my CompuServe and Yahoo mailboxes--both in Thunderbird and in Firefox. I don't care where the Yahoo mail goes, but I really need to get my CompuServe mail working again in Thunderbird. Thank you for your time and attention.

Why can't I add another aol email address to this/my screen.
I want to add my husband's aol email account to my aol account so I can see them both at the same time. I can't find a place to do that. Please add this feature, if it doesn't already exist.

Fix your email server.
I have been trying to restore my Verizon/Aol email to my phone/computer for over a month. I am using the settings provided online and also the same that my other Verizon email account is using. There has to be an issue with the server as it continually notifies me that there "is a problem with my account" and asks for the password again.
I am BRITISH. I do NOT want US news. Why have AOL changed this. I want UK news.
I am BRITISH, why I am now getting US news on AOL ?????? I used to get British news. How do I change this please. I do NOT want US news.
outlook unable to connect to IMAP server
Outlook is no longer able to connect to the IMAP server. I have not made any changes to the account, so the issue must be with the server. Please review and correct.Reviewed · 3 comments · Settings · Admin →
