  1. In email what does the FLAG do? Mean? I don't see any explanation on use.

    On mouse over on a flag, open a small window giving an explanation of flag.

  2. The policy of not allowing the use of an old password STINKS!!! {and the policy AUGHT to be changed}

    Sometimes a password change occurs for reasons beyond our control. The policy of not allowing a previous password - or even one similar STINKS and aught to be changed to allow perhaps not the last password, but SOME previous password... I mean how many passwords are we EXPECTED to remember???

  3. Put a limit on spam emails in the spam folder

    All my spam goes to my spam folder, does anyone know how many spam emails this folder will hold? I'm at 400 now? I figure once this spam folder is full, the spam emails will stop.

  4. How many days does an e-mail stay in the SPAM folder? Provide answer in HELP.

    Help, does not answer the question of "How many days an e-mail stays in the SPAM folder". Off and on, mail is put in the SPAM folder with no indicator/count. Would help if ones knows how often to check SPAM folder for non-SPAM mail put into the SPAM folder.

    By default, both the Trash and Spam folders empty automatically to keep your account tidy. You cannot change the Trash and Spam settings.


    Trash deletion frequency - Trash is deleted after 7 days.

    Spam deletion frequency - Spam is deleted after 30 days.

  5. STOP SPAMMING YOUR CUSTOMERS

    AOL has settings to allow its users to opt out of marketing, and they clearly are meaningless. I have previously opted out of all marketing, including for NordVPN, but yet I still get the solicitations for that specifically. Furthermore, there is no opt out of all, so when a new category is added it defaults to enabled for marketing.

    This is ******** and you know it. Stop being scum and do the right thing.

    AOL may send marketing offers by email. You may choose to opt out of receiving all marketing emails or by specific product being promoted by setting the appropriate preference to "OFF". If you set marketing emails to "OFF", you may still receive important information about your AOL features and services or your account by email.

    If you’ve deleted your contacts or are suddenly missing some, don’t worry! Contacts can be restored to automatic save points in time.
    WARNING: The restore will replace any changes or additions made to your contacts since that time.

    1. Click Contacts from the left panel in AOL Mail.
    2. Click More | Restore.
    3. Select a date to restore your contacts to from the drop-down menu.
    4. Click Restore.

  7. Invalid E-mail Cannot be Blocked

    I constantly get spam from this e-mail address: noreply@offers.com>

    Why can't I put this in my block senders list? If they can send it, then I should be able to block it. Now, you are changing my post. At the end of the e-mail address above, there is .com&gt

  8. Do not post ads for AOL services or products without showing the cost

    AOL loses credibility when it advertises a new service or product and only show the link to a "FREE TRIAL". Be up front with customers and tell us the cost of what you are selling. Then we can decide on a free trial.

  10. Receiving OLD email

    Am suddenly receiving emails from merchants dated 2018, 2019 (it is now 2021) all having to do with payments received or invoices waiting for payment. I have checked with one merchant and they have no record of having sent the email and I am paid in full with them. Since these emails are from various merchants with whom I've done business in the past, it looks like the problem source could be AOL instead of the merchant. Could you please look into this and reply? I do not see any other way on your site to report this issue.

    An AOL named **@aol.com, has posted an obscene, threatening email to **@aol.com. It's currently in my old mail box. I assume there is something you can do about ths.

  14. Terrible customer service Marvin. I am filing a complaint with the FCC.

    CSR Marvin was terrible. He should not be on the hpones and is useless. He could not answer any questions. Gave me the run around, would not give me a mgr or supervisor. Said I had to pay for technical support. I am filing a formal complaint with the FCC.

  15. can't send all emails

    I can not send all emails and it is AOL's fault. I put in the address and then all of a sudden AOL puts AOL.com at the end of it and it is not an AOL acct.

    What you’re describing works as designed. When you type only a username in the ’’To’’ field when composing an email, if you do not add the domain of that username, the system will automatically add @aol.com to it. I’m sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you!

  16. SPAM E MAILSHOW DO I STOP THEM

    I am getting fed up with all the spam E mails I am getting. I ticked the box which only allowed E mails to be received if they were in my contact list. Today, I have received loads of unwanted spam mails. What do I do to stop this rubbish?

  17. First, I want to commend your Tech Support member, Kurt, who helped me through a nightmare this evening in cleaning up folders in my email.

    Commend Tech support representatives like Kurt from this evening and Chris from yesterday and some others.

    Not only did Kurt help move things into the proper folders, he also showed me ways to prevent this in the future. He took the time and used his expertise and experience in a professional and caring way to ensure that I was satisfied. What a great role model for customer service. He was respectful of both my time and my level of understanding at each step.

    Chris also provided good service and spent countless hours trying to moe things in different folders.

    My Outlook stop connecting to my AOL (formerly verizon email). I tried to create an app password but the AOL account security does not provide a drop down menu for app name. How do I reconnect? Thanks

    Hi again. There is no dropdown menu for an app name. You can enter the name of the app and copy the generated password.

    To resolve this issue, you’d need to remove your account from Outlook then use the generated app password to reconnect your account in it. If you need additional assistance, we can be reached at help.aol.com/contact/

  20. Unable to download/open attachments on iPhone. Have to use gmail to open them.
