Help! i'm lost in a security nightmare
I sign in from the same location every day except when I am on my iphone. Each time for the last wto weeks, since I have uped my security, they tell me I have never signed in from this site before. And I have to go through the whole security process all over again, and again, and again. I could see it if I were out of town, which I will be on occassion, but everyday from the same location! HELP!!!
In most cases this problem is caused by the use of a VPN (virtual private network). A VPN will hide your real location, and for security reasons AOL will ask you to verify your login.

Why are the left side columns COLLAPSED?
The left hand side used to have words rather than syupid symbols describing the various items in email.
STOP changing things because every time you DO that,. it gets screwed up.

add to dictionary
My last name continually is flagged as a typo, and I have never been able to add it to the dictionary. Others email programs like gmail have this option to add to the dictionary.
AOL Mail does not have this feature, however, you can do this from your browser. Here’s how: right-click on it, and select Add to Dictionary.

Please stop letting this ***** mail come through. This mail is trash and I need help to stop it.
Let us stop some emails from coming through please. I get such ***** I want it stopped.
The best way to resolve this is to mark the emails as “Spam”, that way you can train the spam filter to better identify unwanted emails in the future. You can also block specific senders by going to the Mail menu on the top left, and selecting “Block Unwanted Mail” from the drop-down menu, then adding the sender’s emails address in the Sender Filter’s block list.

FED UP with all of it
I'm about ready to switch to Gmail. AOL really needs some work. The SPAM issue is ridiculous and the freezing up sucks. FIX THIS OR I'M GONE. Bet I'm not the only one. And I pay a monthly fee to use it. FED UP!!!!!
Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, the Spam Settings customization, are no longer available for all accounts. We apologize for the inconvenience.
In order to block a specific sender, go to Options – Mail Settings – Spam Settings and add the email addresses in the box below “Block Mail from Addresses I Specify”, then click Save Settings at the bottom, and in case you receive unwanted emails in the Inbox, mark them as Spam.
Regarding the freezing issues, we have a solution for you, please clear your browser history, cookies and cache here’s how: https://help.aol.com/articles/clear-cookies-cache-history-and-footprints-in-your-browser
Also make sure to have the last version of the browser installed. You can try accessing your email account on a different browser.

YEAR DELETED ON EMAILS
YEAR DELETED ON EMAILS: I ca't imagine that anyone would be dumb enough to think that taking the year off the e-mail messages would be a good decision. I often save memos for legal purposes. A piece a of paper or memo without a year is worthless. I have been a member of AOL and have resisted several offers of bundles much cheaper but felt good with a familiar e-mail that actually was usable and readable, however without a year you are going to have to count me out or get a new development team because "yesterday" means nothing. Which…
The year will not be displayed in the mail list, for the emails received in the current year. For the emails received in the previous years, you can see the year next to the day and month.

Please delete and re-add your account in Incredimail. The incoming and outgoing mail servers require SSL enabled for all ports, and also the username field in the account setup, needs to contain your full email address.
In case your server settings are correct, open the link below (and sign in if necessary), and make sure the option “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in” is turned ON.
login.aol.com/account/security
After this turning ON this option, check if your mail application is able to connect. If the problem persists, verify if the “Two-step verification” option on the Account Security page (the URL above) is turned ON or OFF.
In case this feature is turned ON, you will have to create a unique application-specific password for each one of your email applications, by following the steps from the section titled “How do I set up 2-step verification?” from the following article: help.aol.com/articles/2-step-verification-s.

Please get rid of the Yahoo Sports gaming ad when signing on to emails. Can't stay signed in. No interest in gaming.
Don't ignore this..... no interest in or time for online gaming. The ad for Yahoo sports will not allow me to check the stay-signed-in box. This isn't taken seriously, as it is advertisement - "too bad?" "live with it?"
