  1. my phone was stolen, but your sign-in software is messed up and doesnt recognize "I dont have access to my phone"!!

    my phone was stolen so could not receive text nor voicemail to get signed in. then the goofy sign-in page was stuck in an endless loop; when i told it i didnt have access to my phone, it went right back to the first sign-in page, over and over and over and over, getting NOWHERE !! provide some security questions to allow access to our emails when our phone is NOT available. in essence: fix your sign-in software, if you know how. signed, a previous programmer that knows you know how to fix that mess. thx.

    Please try our 3 troubleshooting solutions:
    1) Refresh your browser window
    2) Clear Browser Cache
    If step 1 does not help, please try clearing your browser history, cookies and cache. In many cases, you can use the following handy shortcuts:
    - Ctrl-Shift-Delete (Windows)
    - Command-Shift-Delete (Mac)
    3) Try a different Browser
    If steps 1 and 2 do not resolve the issue, please try using a different browser — for example, if you are using Windows 10, please try Chrome.

  3. Security Shutdowns

    Today I have been trying to retrieve a number of emails from my mail and to take notes about them for reference. Each time, however, that I leave the "Sent" page, I lose contact with my mail on the grounds that it is for my security. Since my absences have been fleeting - only a few seconds - I find this VERY ANNOYING. Please correct this trouble.

  4. can I do distributions

    This is just awful, I can't figure out how to do a distribution list, can't find my contacts, can't delete more than one line item at a time, can't save sent items to a folder automatically, What i have is email from the early 90's.

    Follow these steps to create a distribution list:

    1. From your AOL Mail inbox, click Contacts in the left panel.

    2. Above your list of contacts, click New List.

    3. Enter a name for your list.

    4. Click the Contacts icon to add contacts to the list.

    5. Click Add List.

    Here’s how to delete multiple emails:

    1. Open the folder or Inbox where your message is located.

    2. Select the boxes next to the messages you want deleted.

    3. Click the Delete icon Image of the Delete icon in AOL Mail.

    Create filters to make sure your incoming emails go in the folder you want them to. Once you’ve created a filter, you’ll be able to edit or delete it from the same screen.

    Filters can be deleted by clicking the X next to “Edit.”

    2. Enter the parameters of your filter.…

  5. Use of Exclamation Causes Log-Out and Lost Message

    While composing an e-mail, I find that using an exclamation mark results in a message 'do you want to leave this page' with options to leave or stay. Clicking either option results in LEAVE the page without a draft being saved. Both use of the exclamation while composing should not be a short-cut key. The click to stay or leave needs to be fixed. Also, is there an option to change the number of key strokes before a draft is automatically saved?

    To fix this follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to mail.aol.com

    2. Under your username, click Options | Mail Settings.

    3. Uncheck the “Show sender names instead of email addresses in message lists” box

    I am unable to attach files to emails; my whole folders string was apparently attached to a recent email, instead of the one file I wanted to attach. Reading the email (I bcc'd myself) and the attached file on my iPhone was OK but somehow when I read my email using my PC, the attached file was a listing of all the folders I had set up rather than the one file I thought I attached. This was a very embarrassing situation since the recipients got the listing of all my folders, instead of the file I thought I attached.…

    To avoid this from happening, attach files to your email using the ‘Attach’ button at the top of the email compose window (paper-clip), instead of drag and dropping files into this window.

  8. You've made AOL so **** difficult!

    You've made AOL so **** difficult to maneuver through! No blocking of unwanted spammail! So, I get hordes of it everyday!

    Where the *** is the place, WHERE I can deactivate one of my screen names???

    Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, the Spam Settings customization, are no longer available for all accounts. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    In order to block a specific sender, go to Options – Mail Settings – Spam Settings and add the email addresses in the box below “Block Mail from Addresses I Specify”, then click Save Settings at the bottom, and in case you receive unwanted emails in the Inbox, mark them as Spam.

  9. don't change my email; today December 27, 2018 I now have a terrible email experience and where are my "older emails?"

    AOL did some recent changes to my email and I hate those changes !
    How can I change back to the previous way? Example, before, I could read a message and then delete or save it. Now when I finish a message, the next message automatically opens ! This is a major security issue, since that message could be bad spam or malware, etc. Please change this email system back or tell me how to change it back to the way it was.

    In order to change it back, please follow the next steps:

    Options – Mail Settings – and uncheck ‘In full reading view, display the next message after moving or deleting the current one’ then click Save Settings at the bottom.

    If you are missing emails from your inbox, please contact our FML team at aolmailquestions@aol.com for a mail recovery.

    If you’re having issues with email notifications from Facebook:

    Make sure you have signed up for your Facebook account with this particular email address.

    Check your spam or junk email folder for these messages.

    If you’re still not receiving emails from Facebook, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to ensure that they aren’t blocking email traffic coming from Facebook.

  16. My files are not loading in my e-mails. Why ?

    I am using your filter by address but you have made it impossible because the beginning of the e-mails start with Webservice and then change. I believe you, Google, Facebook are all continuing to find ways to ignore the privace requests of your users. I have added the word to block 2 different ways and receive over 100 junk e-mails a day at times. IF this continues, I will be forced to abandon the aol account I have had since 2008 and find a more secure mechanism. Please stop removing features that make my e-mail account more manageable.     The best way to resolve this is to mark the emails as “Spam”, that way you can train the spam filter to better identify unwanted emails in the future. You can also block specific senders by going to mail.aol.com – Options – Mail Settings – Spam Settings, then adding the senders emails address in the Sender Filter’s block list.

  18. moving mail to large aol mail doesn't work.

    AOL says it will delete another over x amount of space and created a large email file that doesn't work. Currently, you have email messages or attachments in your AOL Mail account that exceed the maximum permitted size limit of 25MB. As of January 11, 2019, any email messages or attachments in your AOL Mail account that exceed the 25 MB size limit will be automatically deleted. If you would like to save these emails or any attachments to these emails, you must download and save them to your computer or a local drive before January 11, 2019. All other…

    The “AOL Large Messages” mail folder is Read-Only, meaning that you cannot delete or move emails out of it. After saving the email content in a document or other file on your computer, and downloading the attachments, you can leave the emails in the “AOL Large Messages” folder, and the folder will be automatically deleted on January 11 2019.

  20. "Today on AOL" Landing Page - Disable

    In my settings, I deselected the box that says "Show me Today on AOL when signing in". Yet every single time I log in, it takes me to the "Today on AOL" page. I double-checked my settings and the box is still deselected, but it keeps doing exactly what I asked it not to do.
    Any chance you can get the system to actually recognize the settings?
