  3. GET REAL!!

    Contacts are becoming increasingly harder to edit and save. I spend way, way to much time trying to enter information only to have the dreaded errors come up. You have forced me to send to my 280 legitimate club members in 4 different sends just to get one message out. I get returns on many of these e-mails. I have an idea... fix it before I leave. It's not like you haven't heard all this before from many others besides me. Sad because I have stuck with you since '99 and this has been my 1st and main e-mail account.…

    We are unable to replicate your issue while editing contacts. We suggest that you clear your cookies and cache or try a different browser.

    Unfortunately, what you’re looking for in bulk sending is no longer offered in the current version of AOL Mail. If you’ve received a notification that a limit of the number of sent emails was reached or you’ve sent to too many contacts, you’ll need to wait before you can send more emails.

    Because of our antispam policies, we do not disclose the specific limits on the number of emails you can send or the number of contacts you can email at once. Nor do we disclose the waiting period before you can continue sending emails. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  4. Problems With Rejected Mail

    The following is causing LOTS of problems:

    Your message from aol.com rejected due to its DMARC policy.

    Not sure what can be done, but I'm contemplating switching from AOL.

    This email was rejected because it failed to pass the DMARC policy. This policy is used by all major email provides in order to prevent the sending of scam and spoofing emails, by rejecting the emails coming from a server not owned by the domain which sends the email. In case you received this message after sending an email from your AOL address, please configure your Outgoing Mail Server using the AOL SMTP settings outlined in the section titled “AOL Mail POP and IMAP settings” from the following help article: https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-use-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-aol-mail.

  5. Email done right

    All my new emails are being put into the old mail and deleted mail folders
    Please FIX THIS OR TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS. THIS PROBLEM JUST STARTED LAST WEEK.???????????????????????. IVE LOST VERY IMPORTAND MAIL

    In most cases this issue is caused by a local incoming mail filter, or an email application that you are using.

    To make sure the filters on your AOL accounts are not causing the problem, please go to mail.aol.com (from a desktop computer) – Options – Mail Settings – Filter Settings, and edit/delete the filters set to deliver incoming emails to the Trash folder.

    In case you do not have any incoming mail filters set-up on your AOL account, please check the incoming mail filters, and junk mail filter, in the mail applications that you are using (e.g. Outlook, Mac Mail, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, mobile email application).

  6. Emails with different sizes of text

    I compose emails in word and then transfer the text to my emails. The problem is when I do this, the text often comes back with different sizes of the font. For instance, the first part of the text will be in Verdana 13.5, while the last part of the email will be in Helvetica 10. Below is a sample email where this occurred (although the text below is all in the same format) :

    Prius is taking longer to fix than expected [Verdana 13.5]
    I will let you know when it will be ready. [Helvetica 10]

    Here’s how to choose a default font and color:

    1. Under your username, click Options | Mail Settings.

    2. Click the “Compose” tab.

    3. Next to “Rich Text/HTML,” select Use Rich Text/HTML.

    4. Select your font type, size, and color.

    5. Click Save Settings.

  9. Must sign out to access Word when writing email. Where did Icons on bottom page go??

    when writing emails I suddenly cannot access other files such as word without leaving, signing out and in again. There was a bar on bottom which has recently disappeared

    In case you do not see the Windows task bar when you have your browser opened, it is possible that the browser window is set to show in full-screen. To disable the browser full-screen mode, press the F11 key on your keyboard.

  10. Correct my email address

    When Verizon converted to AOL, the 'helper' misunderstood and made my entire name my address and said that he could not change it back. Very inconvenient.

    I'd like to change my email address to something else.

  11. AOL compose.... where is the paper clip..to include an image?

    Compose.... where is the paper clip...which used to allow
    one to post an image with the text ?
    I think aol mail has gone downhill for two years...it has

    In order to compose an email with image, please make sure to click on “Insert” button which is located near “Attach” icon.

    It sounds like you’ve accepted our updates already. The best way to check to is to log in from a desktop computer to http://mail.aol.com. If you receive a pop-up message asking you to review and accept, that means you haven’t accepted yet. If you are taken to your inbox directly, then you likely already accepted and are good to go.

  13. update name on personal info

    I have followed the directions to update my name on personal information, but I have not been able to edit the name when I click on it, per the instructions.

    AOL and Yahoo are now a part of the same company, and so we were able to make this process very easy for you!
    We highly recommend migrating your content over to Yahoo Portfolios, because of its robust finance platform. Yahoo Portfolios is free and easy to use! It’s a part of Yahoo Finance. If you’re not already familiar with it, Yahoo Finance offers really helpful features for its members like:

    - real-time market data
    - relevant original and partner content, and
    - a continually expanding set of financial data.
    It also provides members access to global financial market data, commodities, currencies, indices, and cryptocurrencies.

  19. why do you allow emails with no sender to be sent in your system? I get emails all day where is say "None" in the sender spot.

    Why do you allow emails to be sent with no sender. I get emails several times a day with the word "None" for the sender, when i open the details the sender email address space is blank. How can I block this it is always spam I am surprised you allow this.

    Regarding your issue, please follow the next steps:
    Go to: Mail > Options > Mail Settings > General > Uncheck the box : “Show sender names instead of email addresses in message lists” > click Save settings

    Also, In order to block a specific sender, go to Options – Mail Settings – Spam Settings and add the email addresses in the box below “Block Mail from Addresses I Specify”, then click Save Settings at the bottom, and in case you receive unwanted emails in the Inbox, mark them as Spam.

  20. Not receiving emails on phone without computer signin first

    I have been unable to receive email on my iPhone first thing in the morning without signing into my account on my computer first. This is very frustrating and inconvenient, especially if I need to receive important emails before I am able to get to my computer. I must say, AOL is making it more and more difficult to want to stay with your service. Granted, I am a free user and was forced to your service when Verizon left my area. I haven't made the leap to another service changing my email address I have had for over 10…

    In case there are multiple failed attempts, to log into the IMAP/POP server in a short amount of time, the login will be temporarily blocked for security reasons. In order to unblock it, go to mail.aol.com from your preferred browser and sign in, then wait 30 seconds and check if your email applications are able to connect. We recommend checking all of your mail applications (PC and mobile devices) and making sure they have the correct password to login into your email account.
