PPlease return the "block emails containing these words" filter - IT WORKED -y remove it?
Return the spam setting for blocking emails that contained specific words. I have NO IDEA why you would remove it - and looking at all of the exact same complaints I don't know why you would not have returned it to spam setting. Adding the email address does nothing because they just send **** with a new address -why should I pay you for this inconvenience? I accept better for my money.

AOL spam filter is terrible. I continually get emails that change constantly but many end with .host these days. I am constantly getting these emails and AOL has NO PLACE to filter out a bad suffix on an email, such as *.host, because the first part of the spam email keeps changing.
What a rip off!!!! -

BTW--many of the fraudulent messages which claim to be coming from a bank or credit card company have obviously phony email addresses. In some cases, the message totally disappears once it is opened. In other words, they have some kind of ability to automatically delete their message once it is opened----so it cannot be sent to fraud unit of the actual credit card company or financial institution and it also cannot be forwarded to AOL because the message totally disappears.
If AOL users had the ability to "return to sender" every message received OR to globally block ALL messages from specific email addresses or even just email prefixes OR which contain just specific words -- then the amount of spam would be reduced dramatically. But AOL does NOT care what their users want.

AOL has absolutely NO interest in correcting ANY problem which annoys their customers -- no matter how many complaints they receive. I receive HUNDREDS of spam messages every week that begin with "newsletter@..." and you would think AOL would create a method by which users could block ALL messages starting with that prefix---but they refuse to do so

What has happened to AOL? This is such an obvious feature WHY would they drop it? I am fed up with having to individually open every spam email so I can then add it's address to the do-not-open list. This is truly endless. I want to just be able to put "viagra", "sale", "discount" etc etc in as a key word and save the time. Come on AOL - respond to your customers!!!!!

We need to be able to block certain words. It would eliminate 80% of the nasty, unwanted emails I receive as spam. Please restore that capability. It's a no brainer and makes me wonder who is setting the rules for AOL Desktop.

I would like to be able to block certain domains (e.g. Prodigy.net) but a 'return to sender' option sounds like a good idea but it would obviously need pretty well everybody to use it to be effective,
wouldn't it? -

VZ clearly wants us all to move on ... the loyal AOL customers who had great mail/spam service and your own customers. What we have now is JUNK. PS, I entered my AOL email address. This was not an Anonymous post.

I can't take it anymore. 30+ emails a day from "newsletter". Why can't I block that word anymore? I already get mocked for using AOL, perhaps it really is time to move on.
Hey AOL, ARE YOU LISTENING????

AOL, it has been almost a year since this 14th ranked idea was posted. How much feedback do you need to gather before realizing that your customers want the ability to block emails containing specific words? You had it and then you removed it. It shouldn't be taking a year for you to put it back on the spam setting.

AGREE! I get up to 20 emails A DAY from "Newsletter" at different domains. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
If you don't listen to your people you may find we are leaving for someone who does.

It's very annoying to receive non stop spams email. It wasn't broken so why change it?

I just noticed that this option has been turned off and because of this, I will leave AOL. The spam filter for words and phrases worked well and I wasn't getting dozens of damned payday loan app things everyday, but now I am again, and so I checked and the filter is gone. AWFUL!

I too want to see the return of blocking unwanted emails by key words. I tried setting some in a 'filter' but when I tried to 'save' it, I just kept getting the same error message- "Note: The following characters are not allowed in filter criteria: <"\*" Of course, I did not have any "characters" in that filter. Only letters. Just letters
I'm getting 20+ emails in my spam folder daily. I think it's time to bail from aol's sinking ship. -

Folks AOL will not fix nor change anything. Your only choice is to cancel your account and use something else. They do not even look at these posts anymore. It is sad but true!

I get at least 10 spam emails a week about Keto diet, CBD oil, HooverSmartWash….doesn't do any good to try and unsubscribe...blocking just makes a different new address from the senders...
