( 03dec2020, 14:19 US Eastern ) Pblm (29nov to 02dec : 2020 ) seems to be resolved but there are still e-mails from gmail that have not arrived yet.
My suggestion is : Call the AOL tech number provided by Christina Jewtt below ( 1-800-827-6364 ) and let them know your dissatisfaction with the situation which lasted days .

They actually responded quickly and did not try to sell a support package. <<
= = Recent Tests Showing Things Working Again ( 3dec2020, 14:42 )
Have done about a dozen tests sending emails from gmail to aol and they are all arriving in about a minute. Also receiving e-mails from gmail of friends.
I know there are still gmails I have not received that were sent over 24 hours ago. At this point I don't expect to get them. So if you are expecting some important gmails , I strongly suggest you reach out to originator if that's possible.
Google-gmail sent me 3 notices of delayed items, though the actual number delayed by AOL was more like a 20 .
Personally, I"m very upset with AOL for their Tech Support blowing me off and pointing finger at Google-Gmail even after describing tests , and delay notices from gmail . Having worked in Network Support for some 30 years I have rather good idea of how to eval an issue.
I wrote a scathing feedback mid-day on 1dec2020 for the AOL Tech-Support interaction and provided a lot of doc as to why. User feedback for help desk gets looked at closely so maybe that shook the aol tree .
Large service providers like AOL ( Verizon ) have large network operations centers with monitoring and diagnostics. That AOL was not aware of this issue for at least 3 days 29nov,30nov,01Dec,02Dec is unacceptable . That after 3 days their support personnel should be pointing users in wrong direction as to cause and how to pursue is even more unacceptable. To list a few : I would expect they should have noticed a drop in e-mails from gmail and or an increase in number of gmails being rejected due to high activity. Likely once network group was contacted the problem was obvious as it seems to have been resolved in less than 24 hours from time I called aol tech support.
Suggestion : Voice your dissatisfaction with AOL !
From doing research my guess is 1000's or 10,000's of users impacted with millions of valid gmails gone missing or delayed for days. Unacceptable that AOL wasn't aware of this IMO .
I’d really like to read the problem, debug and fix report from AOL . But I guess that’s not available. Oh well.

Some positive news , now 2dec2020 22:38 US Eastern :
Test 1 : Just sent two e-mail from my gmail account and they both got threw to my aol account with approx one minute delay. This is first time that has happened in days.
Test 2 : Sent e-mail from my aol acct to gmail ( rcvd in gmail in about 2 minutes ) then did "reply" the reply was rcvd in my aol account about two minutes later.
Again, this is first time no significant delay seen in gmail -> aol since 29Nov2020.
So maybe it is fixed. Will check again tomorrow and start telling a few other people to try sending to my aol account again.

Christina Jewett - - - Has the problem been fixed for you ?
It continues for me ( now 9pm 2dec2020 ) and there are many things I know I have not received.
. I'm glad AOL told you they were aware of the issue, but I'm not overly confident they will tell me that when I call next. I am trying to compile more information and thinking of pointing other users in other posts describing same issue in similar time frame to this thread .
Perhaps more "votes" and more information from users about how this issue is impacting them will get AOL to actually take it more seriously.

Delayed and failed messages: I have the same problem during the same time frame. I have business related mail under a gmail account, but forward all my e-mail to my aol account. In the last week or so I am getting delayed and failed notifications. Some of the reasons say the user (me) is getting too much mail; I am not a high volume user. Almost all of these e-mails are not spammy. This has affected my small business and I can't get anyone to look at the problem.

this is happening to me as well - delayed gmail, mostly from a couple of school groups so there are a decent number of recipients, and they are mails I need! I've already posted here as well.

Same here but started on 29nov2020, now 1dec2020 - - - emails from gmail users , including myself, are either delayed for hours, 4 hours, 14 hours, 33 hours and or going totally missing have become the norm .
I contacted AOL tech support they insist the issue is with gmail, but all the facts point to AOL.
About 3 days ago I deleted a lot of items from my aol deleted-spam and inbox . I am wondering if AOL has recorded this as high e-mail activity on my account and has started to block some thing.
In the info from gmail ( see below ) the comment about >> I ( as contact ) amreceiving mail at a rate that prevents messages from being deliverd << make me think AOL has marked my account as having very high activity which is does not - - - unless folder managment is taken into account .
Here are the messages a friend of mine received from gmail - - -
