can't get mail on my computer it says needs permission to sync

Hi there. As we all know, technology is continuing to change and improve. While the connection you have been using may still work and was once the best, a better, more secure option is available. Basic auth is an older authentication method. A more secure authentication method called OAuth2 is now available. To ensure your account remains secure, we are requiring all applications to support OAuth2.
We recommend using the AOL Mail website and AOL email app so we can ensure you’re always using the most secure sign-in technology when accessing your email.
If you prefer to continue accessing your AOL email on your current third-party email application, including the default email application on your mobile phone, please see details below on how to ensure it’s syncing with the latest secure sign-in method: https://help.aol.com/articles/allow-apps-that-use-less-secure-sign-in
Thank you!

My Outlook (both 2016 and 2019) stopped being able to access AOL emails on multiple PCs at exactly the same time on April 21, 2021 at around 4 p.m. EDT. Installing and reinstalling AOL in Outlook does not work. Changing port settings didn't work. I need to use Outlook to access my AOL emails. I'm exceptionally tech savy troubleshooting email problems, but this appears to be an AOL server problem. Error code returned is consistently 0x800CCC0E - "contact your server administrator", "cannot synchronize subscribed folders for AOL". Please fix the AOL serve issue. It's now May 13, 2021. If this isn't fixed very soon, I will need to stop using AOL for email service and use another provider.

I receive my AOL mail on multiple computers (PCs) running various versions of Outlook (2016 and 2019). All these PCs running Outlook were simultaneously unable to access to AOL server on April 21st at around 4 p.m. EST. I have been unable to access emails through Outlook since that time. Installing and uninstalling AOL on Outlook was unsuccessful. Changing port settings was unsuccessful. The consistent error message from Outlook is as follows: 0x800CCC0E - Cannot Connect to Server. Research into other user experiences shows that the server needs attention by AOL to remedy. Please check your server(s). I'm still unable to access AOL using Outlook as of May 12, 2021 at 8:47 EDT.

I started having problems receiving my email through my Outlook program using the pop3 server "pop.csi.com" 4 days ago. All of a sudden it stopped working.
Could the pop.csi.com server need to be restarted?
Have the server settings for pop and smtp been changed?
I've had my account since 1984.
Thank you for checking the server status, and bouncing the servers if needed! I appreciate all that you are doing! -

I have just started being unable to receive e-mails in Microsoft Outlook. The error message is 0x800CCC0E. I reviewed the port settings and everything appears correct. Outlook suggest that I contact the internet service provider. Please correct this issue.

Still unable to access email from Outlook on any computer. None of the PCs running 2016 and 2019 can connect to the IMAP server. Error message is still 0x800CCC0E. (11:20 a.m. EDT on May, 8 2021)

I use TBird as an email program. I can log in, check mail, and move files around on AOL's server with no problems. But, when I move a file from my AOL Inbox to the AOL Trash folder and then try to look inside the Trash Folder, there's a long pause before I get a message from my browser saying something like "Problem,,,the service has disconnected or...". At some time later (minutes), when I try to look in the AOL Trash folder, it opens with no hesitation. Any idea why I'm experiencing this issue? Why are file transfers taking longer than a few seconds before I can look inside the target folder? Just wondering how I can avoid the delays. Thanks for any info you might provide.

I've been unable to receive my emails since April 21, 2021 at 4 p.m. EDT in Microsoft Outlook 2016 and 2019 on multiple PC computers where I check email. Error message 0x800CCC0E. Reinstalling AOL in Outlook was unsuccessful. Port settings are correct. Tried other port settings, which was also unsuccessful. Online research indicates this is probably an IMAP server problem requiring AOL to take action. AOL was able to fix this for users upon request. I request you remedy this issue. Thank you.

I can't sign in with Outlook or Gmail anymore. Error is that username or password are not correct. I've changed my password multiple times in an effort to resolve this but still get the failure. I've been a member since the days of dial up and am honestly considering dumping your service. I get teased about the old email address as it is. Do you WANT to run off your base of users?!?
Please fix whatever is WRONG with your service so we can continue using your platform in conjunction with the upstarts that are everywhere. Even Outlook won't recognize my sign in for AOL. -

If I post anything on AOL, the AOL cops come, so I don't thing AOL will allow any of us to defect to a less socialist company like gmail.

Well, AOL is a socialist company, so get used to being misinformed and not listened to.

Get someone to call me or at least help me - bloody useless so called support.
Just recently (3 days ago) I wasn't able to get my emails on my default account on my phone - never had a problem before - I have done all the usual things and checked all settings against my other 2 accounts that I have on my phone which work OK
Tonight I changed my password and tried again but I keep receiving a message stating that
Login Failed
The IMAP/SMPT service is disabled. can you enable this as I cannot see on my Huawei Mate 20 Pro phone.
Tried the help desk and totally bloody useless - I have attempted to look on line and ask technical friends but to no avail - guess I will have to say goodbye to the useless AOL mail unless someone can actually help me -

My email does not require excessive security. AOL should have notified users that AOL email would no longer be accessible on Windows 10.
