For the past six days, I have been unable to send and receive emails through the POP server (using Outlook). I applied the "one-time" tix of a random password generated by AOL, which was successful for one set of sending and receiving. But when I revert back to my regular password, as instructed, the POP server email no longer works.

I have not been able to receive or send emails via the AOL POP server used by my Outlook email client for at leas two weeks. Please fix this or tell me how to fix it. Like many people whose comments I see here, this is my primary email communication, and I need to be able to use it.

I have been unable to sign into my Verizon email via POP. I used the AOL instructions to delete my mail app on my ipad and create it using AOL as the site and MAPI. That worked for a few days and now it doesn't work. AOL doesn't seem to be able or willing to fix anything or help us even though they are the ones who messed it up unless we pay them. My wife and I have moved our main email now to gmail (which is reliable), but I would still like to be able to get to my verizon emails. Is AOL actually going to try to help us or is it okay with them that our email does not work?

It looks like Michael Kazar's fix worked for me. I do have this cryptic password that I would like to change, but haven't figured out how to change to a better password. I'm also curious if this is only a one-time 24 hour password or not. We'll see.

Like another user below, my POP3 access stopped around 1:30 on Jan 26, 2022. My record showed that for several attempts to connect I was getting the [SYS/TEMP] Server error. I generated a new password and apparently can now connect to the server, but get the message "does not support leaving messages on the server" even though my setup does not have leave messages on the server selected.
Is there anything that AOL can do to fix this?
For the record, the pop3 server is pop.verizon.net and I am accessing through gmail.

Sending of password for user *** did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.

I tried the app password fix, but it only gives a one time password.
How do I get it to be a permanent password? -

After following AOLs instructions to change protocols from POP3 to IMAP, Thunderbird still doesn't send or receive emails and IOS only receives. I wonder if anyone will read this>
