Spam icon not showing number of pieces in folder
I don't like the change to the spam folder which no longer shows how many pieces of mail are in the folder next to the icon like New Mail and Drafts. I use to just glance at this folder to see how many were in there now I have to open it up. I just figured this out and don't understand why you would make this change.

I agree with Nancy Kaats (article author) and others below: This was a stupid change that makes your user's lives less efficient. I've been a paid member of AOL Mail since 1995 -- for over 25 years -- bring back the Spam Counter now please!

Agree 100% with the comments regarding AOL unexpected change of NOT letting the user know the number of spam messages on a daily basis /

I liked looking at my aol folders and seeing how much SPAM was there to delete. Now that I don't see a number, I forget to look. It's senders telling me to check my SPAM folder for their email.
See a # by the SPAM folder, was definitely a reminder for me to "clean house."
Why did you remove this feature? -

Just realized that AOL is not showing the count for spam. Do you have any idea how much mail I have missed because you put it in spam erroneously and did not let me know anything was there. PLEASE FIX THIS. WE NEED A COUNT FOR THE SPAM FOLDER.

I agree. Makes it more difficult to keep track of spam. Please reinstitute the counter.

My comment is similar...Yes, I had no idea AOL made this change to the spam filter and why no notification to us.....
Also many of my usual emails were being directed to the spam folder without my knowledge..Which means my banking emails, friends emails and other important emails were being directed withought my knowledge....egads...A system that was running like a clock has turned into a nightmare....... -

I noticed the count also. Now I have mail I have read, that goes to old mail, now going to spam from old mail for some reason and I did not do it.

Aol had a good thing going. That is why I am long-time customer. Why AOL decided to change the spam settings is beyond me. Complication is never good. I agree with the chats below that the spam box now has hundreds of spam emails a day and there is no longer any indication of the number of spam messages. Please respond and fix it, AOL.

It looks like many of us were never notified of the change. I too just realized the situation. I am a paying member and just spent an hour in the CHAT. I was told I had to clear my cache and change my default settings. This is not the problem. AOL find out what is happening and get the SPAM counter to work. Please answer all of these similar comments. Not sure, but maybe worth a try.

On January 11, 2022, I accepted the AOL offer to use "My Privacy" for 30 days without charge. This was touted as a method to reduce spam email which I was receiving at approx. 30+ each day.
Today is day #7 of the "My Privacy" controls being active on my pc.
Today, I have approx. 140+ spam emails in my spam account.
Seems like that "privacy" program does NOT work.
Please remove the program from my account effect today (Jan. 17, 2022).
Thank you. -
