How can we improve AOL Mail?

Spam icon not showing number of pieces in folder

I don't like the change to the spam folder which no longer shows how many pieces of mail are in the folder next to the icon like New Mail and Drafts. I use to just glance at this folder to see how many were in there now I have to open it up. I just figured this out and don't understand why you would make this change.

    I fully agree! I forget to check and empty my spam folder now that I no longer see the number on the sidebar, consequently I end up with 700-1000 pieces of spam after a few days -- far too much to go through the entire list! FIX IT, AOL!!!! Listen to your customers!

    Yes, a particular bank that is legit is being marked spam. This is a terrible set back in service. I am so often mocked for still using AOL; maybe it's time to change.

    For what it's worth, I'm also voicing my complaint at the removal of the spam folder count. So glad I found this to hear that I'm not the only one.

    Has anyone else noticed that around the same time that AOL stopped showing the number of spam emails we started getting bombarded with spam?? Seems shady to me, is "someone" getting a kickback for allowing the spam emails?

    I just missed several important emails from a client because they went to the spam folder and I didn't know they were there. With no notification icon I do not remember to check it. The client thought I was crazy and kept resending only to have me admit my email is junk days later. He suggested I change my email provider because of this...should I? Why would you ever change the notification anyhow? At LEAST give me the CHOICE whether I want the notification or not.

    I thought that all the criminal emails had been stopped until a customer told me that they had sent me emails that I had not received and I looked in the "empty" spam folder to find hundreds of emails, including legitimate ones, even though I have the spam filter switched off. When is this going to be put right?

    AOL, please show the number of spam emails I have in my spam folder. It is frustrating not seeing how many I have received on a daily basis. Sometimes, I forget to look and before I know it, I have several hundred. PUHLEEZE restore the ability to see how many spam emails I am receiving hourly, daily so I will delete them more often!!! Many thanks!!!
