Allow the user to change the color of font for read and unread emails to allow the user quicker recognition of emails.
Allow the user to change inbox settings such as font color for read and unread emails. As I am getting older bold black blends with black and is hard to recognize when I am looking for a certain email. Allow the user to change the color of read and unread so they can find emails faster.
Hi there,
Thank you for the feedback. We will pass this along to our product team for future consideration.

Hi there,
If you are seeing too many communication from a particular site there are a few things you can do. Once you can mark them as spam. This will them place any incoming emails from that party into spam folder https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-mail-spam-and-privacy. If you wish to still view these emails but would like less in your inbox I would suggest setting up a filter to have them delivered to a designated folder of your choosing. https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-mail-mail-settings

two factor authentication
I am not a fan of two-factor authentication. If that's a requirement i will close my account. I am not a fan of AOL sending me a code on my phone to enter to access my aol account.
To disable the second factor, please follow the steps in this article: https://help.aol.com/articles/2-step-verification-stronger-than-your-password-alone

Cannot enter Verification Code
Window 10. Rebooted. Cleared Cache. In Google Chrome I entered the correct UserID and Password and was presented with the 2 step verification option. No matter what mechanism I chose, the verification dialog box is pre-loaded. Any entry basically submits the pre-loaded (incorrect) value which of course returns "Invalid Entry". I always use my cell phone text. I tried the alternate voice phone call - but again, pre-loaded value (scfeld). There is no way to erase the pre-loaded value. Fortunately I was able to login using IE Explorer 11 successfully and change - turn off the 2 step verification option.

You can use a third-party email app to download a copy of your AOL Mail email or to send and receive emails, if you’d prefer a different interface. There are two different protocols you can choose when setting up a third-party email app: POP or IMAP.

read my complaint to improve AOL
This is not an idea but a complaint.
For security, AOL advises clients to not stay on line continuously.
In fact, after so many hours without activity, AOL signs you off.
Yet your own policy encourages clients to remain signed in continuously.
Case in point:
When I log on, I put in my user name
When I enter my password (which for security reasons that AOL encourages is 16 letters and digits), if I make an error, AOL informs me that the password is incorrect, and of course I cannot log in.Fine. That's security working. But when I go…

I cannot open and links in my emails now - WHY please - can we have some product support.
I do not want pop ups all the time in chrome when I am reading pages or looking at You Tube etc etc.
So why has AOL put this in ?
If I look on Firefox, there is no issues.

In order to resolve the issue, you will need to click on the pop-up blocker icon at the end of the address box, and select ‘Always allow pop-ups and redirects from mail.aol.com‘, then click on ‘Done’. In case you do not see the pop-up blocker icon at the end of the address box, first try to open a link from an email, and the icon should show up.

elderly mode
I would love to have a mode for my grandma to be able to see all the new mail,. some news, and weather. Nothing extra, and large font. No moving bars, or extra links.
She is 100 years old, and can only see so much. She lives for email and social media, but both of those things are becoming more complex with many links and pictures everywhere.
Simple Mode/Elderly Mode would be perfect.
Happy to hear she is enjoying using AOL Mail. That’s a great suggestion, I will pass it along. You can opt out of seeing Today on AOL when she signs in. Here’s how: Go to Options> General> Uncheck Today on AOL. Also, on the same page you have on the Reading tab: Enable readability mode. That should improve her experience.

Recovery After Updates
Recovery After Updates
I tend to work my web mailbox with open messages left open while I follow up the links etc. Just had a forced Windows upgrade, without the option to stop it, found that when Firefox recovered, all the open messages had "lost" their links. Not sure if this is a Firefox problem or an AOL one, but would suspect its AOL not providing the right hooks to Firefox? So when Firefox comes back and restores, there is nothing there? Just lost 16 open messages, as a result. .
We are so sorry to hear about this. We will pass along this feedback to our team.

why are my emails being sent to spam and why am i being dropped after viewing a couple of pages oo whats new at aol?f
while i'm surfacinf what's new at aol dont freeze my screen !
Hello there
By marking messages as Spam or Not Spam you are customizing your personal Spam filter to learn what is spam and what is not. Emails will be tagged as a spam depending on the behavior it was sent or on the spam controls of the recipient. If there are links, images or phrases that AOL Mail service deemed as a spam based on the complaints of other members, it will automatically go to spam folder. If the mail was sent as a mass mail, it will automatically go to the spam folder as well. Also, please make sure this email address is added to your Contacts list.
We have a solution for you, please clear your browser history, cookies and cache here’s how: https://help.aol.com/articles/clear-cookies-cache-history-and-footprints-in-your-browser
Also, make sure that you have the latest version of the browser installed. You can try accessing your account on a different browser.

Better account security
For the past two days, I have logged out of my AOL mail -- when I log on the next day, the account is open. Nobody else has used my computer, and I haven't given my password to anyone else. Yesterday, I changed my password, logged out -- and this morning, my email account is open. How can this be?
Please clear your browser history, cookies and cache here’s how: https://help.aol.com/articles/clear-cookies-cache-history-and-footprints-in-your-browser
Then make sure to uncheck the ‘‘stay signed in’‘ option from the sign in page at mail.aol.com.
