Recovery After Updates
Recovery After Updates
I tend to work my web mailbox with open messages left open while I follow up the links etc. Just had a forced Windows upgrade, without the option to stop it, found that when Firefox recovered, all the open messages had "lost" their links. Not sure if this is a Firefox problem or an AOL one, but would suspect its AOL not providing the right hooks to Firefox? So when Firefox comes back and restores, there is nothing there? Just lost 16 open messages, as a result. .
We are so sorry to hear about this. We will pass along this feedback to our team.

why are my emails being sent to spam and why am i being dropped after viewing a couple of pages oo whats new at aol?f
while i'm surfacinf what's new at aol dont freeze my screen !
Hello there
By marking messages as Spam or Not Spam you are customizing your personal Spam filter to learn what is spam and what is not. Emails will be tagged as a spam depending on the behavior it was sent or on the spam controls of the recipient. If there are links, images or phrases that AOL Mail service deemed as a spam based on the complaints of other members, it will automatically go to spam folder. If the mail was sent as a mass mail, it will automatically go to the spam folder as well. Also, please make sure this email address is added to your Contacts list.
We have a solution for you, please clear your browser history, cookies and cache here’s how: https://help.aol.com/articles/clear-cookies-cache-history-and-footprints-in-your-browser
Also, make sure that you have the latest version of the browser installed. You can try accessing your account on a different browser.

thanksAOL and AIM.com domains are the same, they are different aliases from which you can send out or receive emails. This shouldn’t have stopped you from accessing your account. Hope this answers your question. If not, please provide us with more details.

Better account security
For the past two days, I have logged out of my AOL mail -- when I log on the next day, the account is open. Nobody else has used my computer, and I haven't given my password to anyone else. Yesterday, I changed my password, logged out -- and this morning, my email account is open. How can this be?
Please clear your browser history, cookies and cache here’s how: https://help.aol.com/articles/clear-cookies-cache-history-and-footprints-in-your-browser
Then make sure to uncheck the ‘‘stay signed in’‘ option from the sign in page at mail.aol.com.

Mail using outlook
I can get to my wail through the internet; however using outlook or IMAP my ****@verizon.net my password is not accepted. How should the settings be set using outlook or IMAP.
Thank you for reaching out. check the Incoming mail server settings in your email application, and make sure they match the IMAP/POP settings in the section titled “Update server settings” from the following help article: https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-set-up-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-verizon-net-mail
The incoming and outgoing mail servers require SSL enabled for all ports, and also the username field in the account setup, needs to contain your full email address, including @verizon.net at the end.
In case your server settings are correct, open the link below (and sign in if necessary), and make sure the option “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in” is turned ON.
https://login.aol.com/account/security
After this turning ON this option, check if your mail application is able to connect. If the problem persists, verify if the “Two-step verification” option on the Account Security page (the URL above) is turned ON or OFF.
In case this feature is turned ON, you…

Fired AOL Today
Effective today AOL Mail has been deprecated in my environment. I will be spending the next couple of days updating my profiles to remove them (...@verizon.net).
None of the provided "solutions" for the pop.mail.yahoo.com failures worked, so now they don't have to.
I urge everyone to dump this bunch of incompetents.
We want to have a Mail Support agent further investigate the issues you encounter. Please email them at: aolmailquestions@aol.com

Mail deletions
Mail settings.
Your AOL email system there appears to be a serious major flaw, as I see it. Although not having any problem with my sending or receiving emails I noticed my system internet has slowed down somewhat. I thought I would start by cleaning up the system starting with my emails SENT listings. Some 340 page listings of 50 listings each page which I deleted. This took quite awhile.
What I discovered was, all that I deleted from SENT emails was transferred to TRASH, all 340 pages of 50 listings each.
My concern is, why did I go through…
Every email that you delete will go to the Trash folder, where it will stay for up to 30 days before being automatically deleted. In these 30 days you can restore the emails from the Trash folder, in case they were mistakenly deleted.

complaints
I only have one email but I have to call my daughter up to get into my account? b/c to get into aol it asks for recovery email other then the one I have. Which is total harassment on the part of Aol security also I gave a phone number in the past, isn't that enough, This my account nobody else. there is absolutely no reason I have to go through so much security to get into an email account that I had 6 yrs plus. On my computer I have virus blockers and I dont need the extra hassle…
In order to skip this screen, you can click on ’I’ll secure my account later’ below the Looks good button. This security screen appears on your login, because you have only one verification method. If you add another phone number or a recovery email address on your account, you will no longer see this screen at login.
