About how racist/sexist ideology should not be the sole basis for employment , and that it would be illegal in any other job.

Although, I disagree with that position in this situation!

First... this is not just any job...
And, she did not apply for it either.

She was selected from among a rather small pool of candidates... all of whom, I would assume, are highly qualified!

Second, and I think most importantly...
There is NOTHING to say that no matter HOW she was selected, that she's any less qualified than any other candidate!

I seriously doubt that any president would nominate someone they felt was LESS than qualified, simply to fulfill an agenda... although they all have a specific preference for a candidate's judicial style.

Another layer to the question of qualification is that the nominee must be approved by the Senate! That, I believe, is where agenda over qualification is more likely to be played out.

Finally, I agree that it would have behooved Biden to not have announced his intentions so publicly... which was done as an obvious campaign strategy... although the racist/sexist ideology has been a less obvious, unspoken practice throughout our history, until very recently.
