    If one has not used the maximum number of filters (see September 10 comment), one can set up a filter for a particular word for 'the subject contains.' Your choice may be limited to putting it under another folder (e.g. deleted). Stopping it is another story. Finally finished moving all my contacts fom AOL and have a permanent away message that indicates the AOL account will only be monitored infrequently for a short time and just kept for historical stuff. Much better now, That truly is the only way to fix it (I paid my exterminating service by phone the other day and they told me they discontinued their AOL account as well since there were hundreds of SPAM emails). The only real way to fix this is just move your contacts to another provider. If you need AOL for historical emails for a short period of time, put an away message in to let any stragglers know that you don't use the email mail any longer. When AOL sends you one of their official emails, they can get the message too.
