    I found a solution that works for me. I setup a Gmail account, and I used Gmailify to import my AOL mail messages to the Gmail account. They all show up in the spam folder. But, using Gmail Script, I wrote a short script that moves all my AOL spam messages back to my inbox.

    One cool thing about Gmailify is that your imported mail still remains on the AOL server in the same folders they are in Gmail. So when the Gmail Script moves them back to the inbox, they are moved back to the inbox in AOL as well. I set the script to run on a schedule every minute.

    Here's the script if you want to try it:

    function UnSpam() {
    var myEmailAddress = 'myemailaddress@somedomain.com';
    var mySpam = GmailApp.getSpamThreads();
    for (myThread of mySpam)
    {
    var myMessage = myThread.getMessages()[0];
    if (myMessage.getTo().toLowerCase().includes(myEmailAddress)
    || myMessage.getTo().toLowerCase().includes(myEmailAddresss)
    || myMessage.getTo().toLowerCase().includes(myEmailAddress))
    {
    myThread.moveToInbox();
    myThread.refresh();
    }
    }
    }
