AOL turned on spam filtering (and very badly designed spam filtering) without any notification whatsoever. I just happened to run across the spam box full and said "what the .......". 85% of my mail has been "filtered" out -- mail from family, order receipts. Yes, about 50% of the mail can be considered spam -- but I do a lot better job of doing the filtering. I agree with the others -- if I cannot turn off spam filtering, I do not want to use verizon.net/AOL for my mail.
