Identify phishing/scams separately from spam
Spam vs Phishing/Scams
It is often pretty easy for savvy users to tell that an item in the Inbox or Spam folder is phishing. However, we know there are many users who are more at risk of being scammed.
When deleting spam, we should be able to indicate whether an item being deleted is just spam or if it is a phishing or other security issue. Then, the AOL security team can work more quickly to prevent many of these emails from going to all your subscribers.5th ranked -
SPAM
Just like phones scammers, etc. are spoofing email addresses and domains. I regularly delete over 100 emails a day n my Spam folder. When I go to Mail > Mail Settings > Mail Filters, I can enter a filter and select what to do with emails that contain the filter. However, there are several problems with the process.
Take for example: Filter name: McAfee From Contains McAfee and mover = Trash folder.
Issue 1 -- I don't have a trash folder, I have a spam folder If I select an email and hit the Delete button it will delete the…

T.Y. AOL! I've recently noticed a big reduction in junk mail as of 5/1/2023. Perhaps the wildcard I always add to email blocking now works?
Thank you AOL! I don't know what change you've made in regard to SPAM blocking but whatever it is, it's working!
I've been a paying AOL member since 1995 and over the last several years the number of SPAM in my Inbox has gotten out of control, despite my constantly adding spammer's email address or domains with a wildcard '*' before the '@' symbol to the blocking list. All my efforts did little to reduce the SPAM I would receive.
I don't know what AOL has done recently, as of the start of May 2023, but the daily 20-30 spam…

Bring back words or phrases or senders that can be blocked in emails.
Bring back words or phrases or senders that can be blocked in emails. It worked great in previous versions. I get over 100 spam emails per day from "renter" "info" "newsletter" "admin" "contact" "no reply and"16307" to name a few. There are some legitimate emails that go to spam that I have to search through to get.

keyword block
please create a keyword block (either in the email address or heading or in the subject matter that would automatically prevent email from being viewed in the spam folder or go directly to trash. This same block could be used for specific senders who change their email domain but not their name

reinstate 'Empty Spam Folder' option
What happened to right-clicking the Spam icon in the left margin and having the "empty Spam Folder" option come up instead of having to go into the folder and delete entries page by page?

clearing spam
Just make clearing spam an 'ALL' at once option. this going page by page and having to do three clicks per page is antiquated. Quit being idiots and sell outs to commerce and give us all a break

My SPAM folder is empty!
Whatever you've done to filter out SPAM is awesome. For the first time ever I've got no SPAM in the folder. I used to have 20+ per day and now it's zero. Thank you AOL!!!

Make it easier to identify legitimate e-mail.
I have a compliment and a suggestion.
For almost a year I was getting many unwanted spam messages. It started out as approximately 20-50 messages daily in my inbox. Then it rose to the hundreds, peaking at 406 on April 17. Then suddenly as of April 27, the spam has disappeared.
I use Outlook as my e-mail client. I used the rule-setting capability to find the spam. The two rules I created worked well, but it was burdensome to go through looking for the occasional legitimate message.
I was considering leaving AOL. That would have been also a burden. Then…
