I do not find the new AOL Mail user friendly - - at all
I have been using the new AOL Mail for a while now, and I still hate it. Please return to the older format. It was more user intuitive and you could find things!! I am not happy. As one of the first users of AOL mail I won't be changing any time soon - - - but it's tempting!

Identify phishing/scams separately from spam
Spam vs Phishing/Scams
It is often pretty easy for savvy users to tell that an item in the Inbox or Spam folder is phishing. However, we know there are many users who are more at risk of being scammed.
When deleting spam, we should be able to indicate whether an item being deleted is just spam or if it is a phishing or other security issue. Then, the AOL security team can work more quickly to prevent many of these emails from going to all your subscribers.5th ranked -
Community Guidelines
I am not surprised at all. I know what to expect. The Left can post insulting comments, disparaging phrases. But if I even type Hunter Biden's name, it gets rejected for not meeting "community standards." They do that kind of thing in China and North Korea. If that doesn't make other social platforms more appealing and a better tenant of FREE SPEECH, I don't know what does.

Who forgot to include Spellcheck in the updated version
I was told by AOL help to use my browser instead. There is no way to do that. You can't link your browser to your email.
The only way to send email copy with no spelling errors is to write them in Word, or AOL Mail and then copy them into Word to spellcheck, then paste back into the email text.
Guys honestly I think you stuffed up and whoever developed the software did not include this facility. It's a glaring omission.
People send business mails in which spelling errors are not acceptabel. Poorly sighted people can't always see errors.…

Screen adds that are offensive!
I would like not to see any Planned Parenthood adds on the right side of my home screen. I am in total opposition to what that organization stands for (which is essentially death to the unborn framed as a women right or heath issue). How can these not show up on my screen?

new version
I like the standard version of AOL e-mail and vehemently dislike the "new and improved" version. I get several hundred e-mails per day and like the listed in one-line format for easy inspection and deletion. The new version has too many unnecessary bell and whistle.

attachments
It appears to me that there has been a deafening silence from AOL regarding the problem of attachments being automatically saved rather than being given the option to open or save.
As has been said by others, when the item is saved to the computer we are not given the choice as to where the attachment is saved and it becomes extremely time consuming attempting to find said attachment.
AOL please sort this out.12th ranked -
Email Screen - Lines Are Too Close Together - Too Busy
The lines of information for each email are too close together. The screen is too busy and not user friendly. The old version was much easier on the eyes.

Block all senders except contacts
Idea is to fix Block all senders except contacts function so it works. I am still receiving unwanted mail messages.
The statement reads "You will not receive messages from senders who are not in your contact list. The sender will not be notified. If you are expecting messages from a specific sender, be sure to add their email address to Contacts."
Are spammers not senders? Is spam not messages? These senders are not in my contact list, but I still receive their messages. The statement is misleading and AOL is not honoring this statement.18th ranked -
QUICK MAIL FILTER OPTION GONE? WHY?
WHY IN THE WORLD DID YOU REMOVE THE OPTION TO RIGHT-CLICK AND FIND ALL MAIL FROM THAT SENDER? THIS IS JUST PLAIN BAD PROGRAMMING!! YOU REMOVED A QUICK COUPLE CLICK OPTION TO BE A HUGE WAIST OF TIME TO SOME ADVANCED SEARCH FILTER PANEL??? REALLY?? I USED THAT ALL THE TIME TO QUICKLY CLEAN UP MAIL. ITS OBVIOUS THE PROGRAMMERS DONT USE AOL MAIL. IM SO IRRITATED AND FRUSTATED WITH THIS CHANGE! TERRIBLE!
PLEASE PUT IT BACK!19th ranked -
Keep as New
When you reply to an email, the original email closes and goes into Old Mail folder. Then, you have to go to Old Mail and mark that email Keep as New. If you click on Keep as New before you reply, then the original email stays in New Mail after you reply. It would be friendlier if AOL Mail returned to the original email after you complete and send the reply so that you can hit Keep as New.
