report malware
Do we have a way of reporting spam/malware to you (and then, hopefully, you do something about it)? For example, I've gotten two messages today, telling me that my email is going to be canclled or whatever, and these messages are apparently coming from other AOL accounts.
Hello there,
If a user is abusing our system to send mail, we're definitely interested. Please mark these emails as spam, it will generate a report that goes to a team focused on such experiences can review and take the appropriate action. For security reasons, they'll be limited in the information they can share back, however, we're dedicated to ensuring our users don't abuse our system.
If an AOL user is sending you spam/scam emails, you can report it here: https://help.aol.com/articles/report-abuse-or-spam-on-aol

Whys is all my e-mail from *******@****** goingto spam instead of inbox?
Why is all my e-mail form *****@******* going to spam intead of my inbox/
Hello. By marking messages as Spam or Not Spam you are customizing your personal Spam filter to learn what is spam and what is not. Emails will be tagged as a spam depending on the behavior it was sent or on the spam controls of the recipient. If there are links, images or phrases that AOL Mail service deemed as a spam based on the complaints of other members, it will automatically go to spam folder. If the mail was sent as a mass mail, it will automatically go to the spam folder as well. Also, please make sure this email address is added to your Contacts list. If the issue persists, please contact us at help.aol.com Thank you, AOL Mail team

Hi there. As we all know, technology is continuing to change and improve. While the connection you have been using may still work and was once the best, a better, more secure option is available. Basic auth is an older authentication method. A more secure authentication method called OAuth2 is now available. To ensure your account remains secure, we are requiring all applications to support OAuth2.
We recommend using the AOL Mail website and AOL email app so we can ensure you’re always using the most secure sign-in technology when accessing your email.
If you prefer to continue accessing your AOL email on your current third-party email application, including the default email application on your mobile phone, please see details below on how to ensure it’s syncing with the latest secure sign-in method: https://help.aol.com/articles/allow-apps-that-use-less-secure-sign-in
Thank you!

why do we have to sign in every time we want to check our emails, please fix this
I want to stay signed in on my emails, i check them several time per day
i do not want to sign in each time. please fix this issue txTo stay signed in to your account, please clear your cache and cookies: https://help.aol.com/articles/clear-cookies-cache-history-and-footprints-in-your-browser. *AOL customers are bombed with spam leaking through any filters, this has nothing to do with malewarer
FIX THE PROBLEM
While most spam should be caught by our Spam filters, occasionally some can slip through. If that does happen it's very important to mark the email as Spam. It lets our system learn that messages from a specific place are not good and helps us make AOL Mail even better at recognizing future spam emails. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

how do I stop the need for asking for cell phone
how do I stop the need for asking for cell phone number? I don't own a cell phone and if I did, I wouldn't WANT to add my cell phone and suddenly get **** from AOL or Yahoo. I have already added a second email address, you DON'T need my cell phone for any further reason.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but AOL is just doing its best to protect your online safety. It’s extremely important to have updated information should you ever need to change your account settings, reset your password or contact AOL customer support.

Why has my aol email downgraded since 2 days? Can you fix my aol email as it was before?
Make my email version back as it was or make it a better version as I am now using a very old rubbish version of aol email. Why have you messed up aol again.
We recommend using the ‘Standard’ version of AOL Mail. To switch to it, simply click the ‘Options’ menu located in the top right corner of the screen, then click ‘Standard Version’.

Similar to Block email, please create Alert email setup page to redirect emails into a temp folder
Similar to Block email, please create Alert email setup page to redirect new emails into a temp , junk or user created folder name.
You can “filter” incoming mail in AOL Mail to make certain emails go directly into the folders where you want them — or, to make unwanted mail from specific senders go straight into Trash or Spam. Note: You can create up to 50 filters. Here’s how to set up Filters and Alerts: 1. In the upper-right corner next to your Username, click the down arrow, and then click Mail Settings. 2. In the left panel, click Filters and Alerts, and then click the Create filter button in the middle of the page. 3. The “Create Filter” window opens. Give your Filter (or Alert) a name, and fill in as much detail as you’d like. 4. Under “Look for incoming messages matching all of the following,” define the criteria for the filter. That is, the emails that the filter will capture. 5. Under “Do the following with matched messages,” click the…

What causes some legitimate email to go directly to "Deleted Mail?"
What causes some legitimate email to go directly to "Deleted Mail?"
In most cases, this problem is caused by the incoming mail filters on your account. To verify your incoming mail filters, please go to mail.aol.com using a desktop computer, and click on Options on the top right, then Mail Settings, and finally Filter Settings on the left side of the page.
On the Filter Settings page, review the filters that are set up to move your incoming emails to the trash folder, then edit or delete them, in order to receive your emails in your Inbox.
As an alternative, you can configure your account using IMAP rather than POP, by following the steps from this help article: https://help.aol.com/articles/verizon-move-to-aol-mail-setting-up-your-new-aol-account-in-a-third-party-email-program-or-mobile-device-imap

Massive spam I cannot BLOCK
I have SETTINGS on getting email ONLY CONTACTS yet every day I get 100 + emails from a site(s) that has infinite disposable none repetitive FROM addresses. I detest those FILTERS which DO NOT FILTER. PLEASE MAKE THE ACTUAL FROM CONTACTS ONLY DO EXACTLY THAT.
If you’ve started to receive an endless flow of junk email, you may be the victim of spam bombing. This is a tactic used by bad actors and hackers to distract you from seeing emails that really are important to you. This can also be an indication that another login account has been compromised.

AOL isn't Syncing with Outlook Any More
Since a recent "upgrade" I'm noticing that not all my new or read email is being uploaded to Outlook on my or my wife's computer. I don't see a pattern about which ones are skipped. But on my Android cell phone using GMAIL app I get all of them, but not on our computers.
Please delete and re-add your account in Outlook. The incoming and outgoing mail servers require SSL enabled for all ports, and also the username field in the account setup, needs to contain your full email address.
In case your server settings are correct, open the link below (and sign in if necessary), and make sure the option “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in” is turned ON.
login.aol.com/account/security
After this turning ON this option, check if your mail application is able to connect. If the problem persists, verify if the “Two-step verification” option on the Account Security page (the URL above) is turned ON or OFF.
In case this feature is turned ON, you will have to create a unique application-specific password for each one of your email applications, by following the steps from the section titled “How do I set up 2-step verification?” from the following article: help.aol.com/articles/2-step-verification-s.

language
i have been using AOL in Japan for years (I travel back and forth) and just a few days ago, for the first time ever, my welcome screen began appearing in Japanese rather than English. This is ridiculous. AOL tech help was useless in resolving this. This should NEVER happen. Once my account is set it should remain in that language. I travel all over and AOL is useless to me if I do not get my news and welcome screen in the language of my preference EVERY TIME.
Please note that when traveling abroad, the aol.com website may be redirected to a regional website specific to your location. This is due to geo-blocks based on your location. The Geo-blocks will force the browser to always load the website based on your location (such as AOL, Google, just to name a few) instead of the international website.
Unfortunately, no changes will have any effect in this situation, as the redirect will always be forced, prior to the loading of the website you are intending to navigate to. This is a limitation imposed due to territorial licensing.

Tiny font size
My incoming emails are almost impossible to read because the font is so small (2mm high). I have enabled the Readability mode but that doesn't help. Thanks
You can increase or decrease the font size by holding down the “Ctrl” key and scroll down or up using the mouse wheel. Another method is holding down the “Ctrl” key and press “+” for increasing or “-” for decreasing. If you want to change the font size when composing emails please go to Options→Mail Settings→Compose→Rich Text / HTML.
