My aol will not allow attachments. It spins forever then says technical problem try again. Please help.

The older version of aol mail will allow me to send pictures and files while the new version will not allow attachments with e mail. I have the latest version of apple 10.15

I cannot send emails with an attachment. It is just a MS Word document at 28kb. There are no special characters in the file name. I can send regular emails, emails with copied links also no problem. Why do I get a technical error try again message? I never had this problem before.
