AOL isn't Syncing with Outlook Any More
Since a recent "upgrade" I'm noticing that not all my new or read email is being uploaded to Outlook on my or my wife's computer. I don't see a pattern about which ones are skipped. But on my Android cell phone using GMAIL app I get all of them, but not on our computers.

Please delete and re-add your account in Outlook. The incoming and outgoing mail servers require SSL enabled for all ports, and also the username field in the account setup, needs to contain your full email address.
In case your server settings are correct, open the link below (and sign in if necessary), and make sure the option “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in” is turned ON.
login.aol.com/account/security
After this turning ON this option, check if your mail application is able to connect. If the problem persists, verify if the “Two-step verification” option on the Account Security page (the URL above) is turned ON or OFF.
In case this feature is turned ON, you will have to create a unique application-specific password for each one of your email applications, by following the steps from the section titled “How do I set up 2-step verification?” from the following article: help.aol.com/articles/2-step-verification-s.

I can no longer get aol mail in Outlook? Hasn't worked for quite a few months. Have to use aol app on my iphone or browser with PC. Definitely a drawback for aol. Keep getting reminder to check settings from my pc. Sad. Is there a solution or am I just out of luck?

AOL Mail servers no longer login with my original AOL email and password accessing AOL Mail on Outlook 2007. I can't send or receive any email using Outlook 2007 with my AOL Mail accounts. Could you please add a setting in the security section to enable third party applications such as Outlook 2007 to consistently be able to login, send and receive email using Outlook 2007 instead of a one time password. I would prefer to login using my email address and my original password to establish consistent communications between the AOL Mail servers and Outlook 2007. Unless there is consistency for solving this problem, it will be very frustrating to search AOL Mail for any old or archived mail. In other words, it is much easier for me to search for older AOL Mail using Outlook 2007 than just using the AOL Web Mail. Could you please add a less secure app setting in security section so that my original normal login will work again on Outlook 2007 without having to use a one time pass code every time I want to collect my email. The one time pass code may work for people that don't use third party applications very often but I use Outlook 2007 daily and therefore, using a one time pass code every time that I want to collect my email is very tedious. I would rather be able to go to Outlook 2007 and collect all my email at once instead of having to go to multiple locations because I can't login to my email on Outlook 2007. Could you please email me your feedback on this issue!! Thank you very much and have a wonderful day!! You will see my name and associated email accounts as a result of my post. This has been a problem for a while and really needs attention ASAP!!!

Hi, I have been using AOL email (using Outlook) for well over 30 years without any real problems. But in the last 6 months have encountered almost daily (and sometimes multiple in a day) requests for me to "Enter Password" - and when I do, most times it 'fails' even though it is definitely the correct password. My android phone is the worst offender, asking for the SMTP as well. If you changed something recently, please advise a 'fix' for us, or just fix it.

I can no longer receive or send Email in Outlook. You made a change to your AOL in April and since then i have not been able to connect with aol. I am ready to drop you and go to Gmail.
I have looked and tied all of your suggestions and nothing works.
Fix you software. -

Unable to Access Email via Outlook on 2 Different PCs since April 21, 2021. I have been accessing my emails just fine over the years via IMAP on two PCs using Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2019. Last Wednesday afternoon (April 21, 2021), I ceased to be able to access my email on these two computers at the same moment. Outlook returns the following error code: 0x800CCC0E. Changing the port setting away from the AOL recommended settings did not resolve the problem either. Webmail and smartphone access (with recommended IMAP port settings) is unaffected. Uninstalling/Reinstalling AOL within Outlook was unsuccessful on both PCs running Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2019. IMAP port settings are correct. More online research shows other users having the same problem, the underlying issue being AOL server problems. When reported, AOL was able to fix the issue. Please address related server issues.

FIX the password issue. I have several computers, and at times need to use a different one to login. With your "new" security, I have to change my password every time I use a different computer. What is the value in that? Also - due to your shortsighted policy, now aol email causes issues for anyone who manages email with OutLook. If this is not fixed soon, I will have to advise my client base (hundreds of clients) to stop using aol.
It is time to get back to being a great company instead of now being seen as the worst email program available.

it would be nice if AOL would advise its customers in advance that servers were going to be moved preventing third party clients (MS Outlook) from having to guess what's wrong with their e-mail applications. Instructions on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated as well.

I have had several times that old emails on the AOL server inbox were downloaded again to my computer via Outlook. Once Outlook has downloaded the emails to my computer the ones in AOL should be moved to the trash folder and eventually deleted. As it is now all the emails remain in the inbox folder and occasionally are downloaded again to my computer. Recently I just got another 286 emails dumped onto my Outlook folder. This needs to have an option to automatically get rid of the emails once downloaded. Maybe I'm missing something. If I am please point it out.

It is a bloody nightmare how many times you block us. STOP flipping blocking MY attempt to sign in with Outlook and then email me that you have protected ME. It is ME who is trying to get in!!!!!!! I have tried to correct this nightmare with your customer service and spent countless hours on the phone with you. I have no such problems with gmail, yahoo, apple etc. The only reason I keep aol is because it has been so long, I don't want to loose friends and websites and id's. Your system is soooo bloody frustrating.

Verizon people that use Outlook can configure their Outlook email account to delete messages on the server when the deleted folder is emptied. This used to work when Verizon was handling our emails. Now that they come from you, it doesn't. Can you sync with Outlook so that this happens again? I literally have thousands of emails on the AOL server that I can't get rid of.

During the past two weeks AOL Mail has failed to properly handle two important emails that resulted in my missing scheduled appointments. Both emails were handled well by my backup gmail account so I'm certain this has something to do with the yahoos over at Yahoo. In addition the pop3 and smtp server addresses were changed in my Outlook client without my knowledge or permission. The next time this happens you'll have yet another noisy unsatisfied former customer.

I hate being tied to you, constantly making it impossible to download my mail into Outlook. Now I can't get anything in Outlook for the past month! You need to help me change providers, send me to another provider, anything just let me get my Email OUT of AOL! I would rather PAY MONEY for Outlook.com to provide service than staying with YOUR USELESS **** SERVICE !!

Emails stopped coming to my Outlook account and AOL wants me to set up an account with a monthly charge for Tech Support. I already pay Verizon a fortune and should not be required to pay another company to have things work correctly. Totally unacceptable.
