If someone gets mail that AOL designate as spam, why send it to our spam folder in the first place just delete it.

AOL doesn't care otherwise that option would be available as a setting. That's why I'm cancelling my account

I am having the same issues as many here. I agree it's suddenly got far worse. I used to check through spam to ensure nothing has strayed into there but now with all the obscene ones I feel disgusted just looking through. I have used AOL since 1995 and I think it may be time to move on.
I wonder if there is any way of reading AOL mail through a different email app that perhaps has better spam settings? -

Probably like the Phone Companies- AOL is Making A Fortune from Spam Co's selling Thousands of Names & Email address to Compnies for Advertising.. Its a Big Business! And I even got a Blocking Coredless Phone and it Blacks Telemarketers- upto 1,000 and then starts over..for only $50 for the 2 Handset and Anwsering and Call Blocking Cordless p phone from AT & T.
It reduces Telemarketing Calls getting thru by over 90% and after 2 mos., down to getting only 1-2 a day and none on wknds anymore.. I need the same from AOL , other -Bud-Wizer I will Leave AOL.. Its Annoying to have to To got my Spam folder and Delete ALL( ave over 100) Now..Doing that 2x a day( 1st in AM and Last at Nite..BaHumbug..! -

I will pay $100 a Year for a Auto Delete Spam Mail program or Option! Since their Techs are always "Suggesting/Hustling" us to buy some Program for Yrs now..This $10 mo offer ought to get their Attention..I even tell the New ASSIT by AOL ( I pay $200 a Yr for that)!

your spam algorithm dumps some emails into spam that are not spam (to me...such as bloggers I subscribe with). Also, that spam folder won't sync and download with my spam folder on my PC (MIcrosoft Outlook 7)...so, all spam stays on AOL and I have to go there to make sure you are not spamming stuff that is not spam.

I hate the new sorting of the new mail. Go back to the old version. Ability to sort by date or by person. The unified mail(old and new) together is NOT user friendly. I was told over a year ago that AOL was working on a fix. Where is it? PLEASE, your users want this. There is not one AOL user I know that likes this and I know others who have left because of this.

Totally agree - the SPAM has gotten crazy - everyday 20 to 50 messages. I keep blocking senders and filtering, but AOL email is ignoring my filters and blocking. Why has SPAM increased so dramatically in the past month or two. I agree with the sender - something is wrong with such an increase in SPAM. Yes, they go to a SPAM folder, but I am sick of having to look at each message and block the sender. AOL - please do something.
And, I reported this to AOL - they sent me instructions to set up blocks and filters. UMMM my original report to them told them I'm already setting up blocks and filters that worked in the past.

I have been running in problems with my aol account I am sick and tired from you because you do nothing to fix a problem you only say I am sorry, but this is not the solution to my problem, I have an stupid message ( your account will be closed ) and I have been reported to you several times, without solution, what I have to do to keep my account, this account is more than 15 years old, and to many business have this account, and I would like to keep this account, beside that they require my personal password are you going to do something or just you are going to say SORRY

this would be a disaster for me. Their spam algorithm continues to put senders in my spam folder that I have indicated as many as 100 times are not spam. My frustration with this is extreme. I have have to check my sopam folder for emails that I was expecting and did not receive.

I have an ad-blocker that prevents all of the useless ads from popping up on my page. But OATH has still ruined your site. I still get my spam box filled up with worthless ads from these people. But I still have to check for legitimate mail. Why are they "claiming" to do a service for people? They're just a nuisance. And stop asking for my mobile phone #. I will not give it to you. I don't want their crap cluttering up my phone too. As far as your suggestion of blocking individual "spam" addresses. That would be a waste of time OATH and AD-Choices will just bombard us with some other new crap. I know you no longer care about your members or you wouldn't have partnered with these parasites.

I disagree with this 100%. Roughly 20% of the email tossed into the spam folder for me is NOT SPAM. I have repeatedly attempted to mark things a "not spam" and after a while they start tossing them in there again. I can take 15 second out of my day to weed through the junk know that most of it is garbage to avoid losing real mail.
