My Verizon/Thunderbird emails stopped. Is the corporate sabotage? Tried a different client, same thing. Not Thunderbird, not my password.
My Verizon/Thunderbird emails stopped. Is the corporate sabotage? Tried a different client, Em Client, same thing. Not Thunderbird, not my password. When I asked for help I received a message stating no help available due to Covid. The next page showed me a 24/7 help link for $4.99 per month. I do not want to use the service any longer. Looking for alternatives without hassle and ads.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for reaching out. Please try generating an app password, which can be found at the bottom of the page under “Account Security.” You can navigate there by clicking Options and selecting “Account Info.”
Please let us know if you experience any issues.
Sincerely,
AOL Product Support

July 28, 2021 was the last time my secondary email worked using Thunderbird. Other clients also do not respond.
I want emails saved locally, so when will a fix be installed ? -

Primary Verizon address works. Secondary address does not.
One more Verizon customer that wants to download secondary account emails and Thunderbird (or any client) stopped working.
Years ago this was because a type of password verification was not recognized by aol. Find a fix for our secondary email addresses.Verizon now owns both AOL and Verizon, so make it work.

Same here: mail.aol.com webpage is the only way to access my email messages. Tried a few email client apps - both pop3 and imap do not work for verizon.net.
I hope somebody monitors this.
Everything worked ok until july 26 2021 -

Yes, same here. Verizon.net emails stopped working on third-party apps (8/5/2021) not just Thunderbird. It's an AOL server issue. They need to be aware and find root cause and implement a solution ASAP.
