Verizon Account Users/Accounts Not working as of August 5th.
Verizon email account users. As of 8/5/2021 Verizon emails are not able to be received and or sent successfully. This occurs with any third-party email clients. It's an AOL server issue. It is not a password, or server setting issue. AOL, please investigate your email server for Verizon account users.

Hi Todd,
Thanks for reaching out. Please try generating an app password, which can be found at the bottom of the page under “Account Security.” You can navigate there by clicking Options and selecting “Account Info.”
Please let us know if you experience any issues.
Sincerely,
AOL Product Support

Verizon.net doesn't work, claiming bad something unspecified. AOL website does work using same userid/password - this is the only way I can get e-mail unless I change to another provider and use a different e-mail address (and get worn out notifying dozens of people of the change).

So weird, i have 7 accounts via verizon.net. Some (3) stopped in to outlook 2010 as of AUG 1, some worked fine. Then i went to each one in chrome and got all but one to work using the "manage app passwords" assigning each one a "generated Password". The one that doesn't. I can log on to aol.com but can't even log over to the email there. Noting that it allows me to "generate a Password" but will not download emails to outlook. When I go to my email on the AOL site i get "BLEK error".
Thought i would add this if it would help others: sign in to Aol.com. on the left click your Profile name. Go to account security. Then bottom of page and click "generate app password". In an other window open your apps login where the passwaord would go. Select your app from drop down list. click generate. Copy it and paste where your pasword goes. Test your email. NOTE. it does not change your AOL email login. Just matches the third party apps to email service. Hope this helps you. -

To the AOL programmers.
For many years I have had my verizon.net email account linked to my gmail account. This has made it easy for me to access all my email addresses and to keep certain business and social interactions separated. Without warning last week I could no longer access my verizon.net account through gmail. I tried for several hours looking online and following the steps necessary to re-establish this connection. Recently I spent over an hour and a half speaking with three technicians and allowing them to access my computer in order to reestablish this relationship. None of their limited actions resolved the issue.1. At no time did the AOL inform me of their change in security or that they would limit interacting with other email servers.
2. It seems incongruous that a verizon.net account or an AOL account will no longer work with Gmail given that Gmail is probably one of the most used mail servers available.
3. I still imagine that the technicians were somewhat limited in their abilities and that some suggestion should be made or some application applied that will allow these two to interact with each other.I would greatly appreciate someone directly contacting me with a resolution of this issue.

Here's what's going on folks. Some of us have multiple @verizon.net email accounts. The reason that one may still work and the other does not is that your email addresses are hosted on different email servers.
When AOL migrated the email accounts over from Verizon, they simply split accounts across several servers. Most likely, this is one specific server that is down in a data center somewhere. AOL has not been monitoring the server or have out sourced server administration to a third party that is clueless. Also, no one from a technical role, taking accountability, or escalating the matter seriously is monitoring this help forum which is a problem in of it self.
AOL, why have/host a "User Voice" forum if our issues are not being addressed? Maybe consider naming it, "The Dark Abyss" forum.
To the folks have email issues with Verizon accounts, keep posting here and voicing that we are asking for someone up the food chain at AOL take this seriously. As of today, my @verizon accounts are still not functioning.

This is a major problem that needs to be fixed!!!!! While I am able to send/receive, my issue is that all my old e-mail......some of which is critical......is no longer available. How do I get it back????

It is really frustrating that I can not find a way to communicate this problem to AOL without paying for a service I do not need or want. Does anybody at AOL read these comments? Should I notify all my contacts and business pages that I have a new email account and drop the AOL service? AOL would probably love that. One less irritated and frustrated customer. At least give us a way to contact support. Why is the chat option not available? I have dealings with many companies that have made it possible to contact home based customer support but AOL can't do that?

Verizon Fios Migrated away from hosting email/email servers back in 2017, that's when AOL was the email provider for all Verizon email accounts users. I have not had any issues with continued use of multiple Verizon email accounts since the AOL migration. As of August 5th 2021, cannot receive any emails using a third party email client, i.e., Outlook, Gmail, etc. AOL Server administrators better get off their rears and correct the Verizon email servers.

This stinks!!!!!
I have spent an hour+ with Verizon on the phone because I didn't ever get notified of the transfer to AOL. Then trying to get help from AOL? forget it. This should be fixed now. I need my account restored without going through a lot of confusing steps and then finding out it's AOLs fault! -

I am having this problem as well. AOL needs to get their act together and fix this issue. I have two Verizon email accounts. I can receive and send messages on one account but not the other.

I have two Verizon email accounts and one works and one does not! The settings on each account are identical. I thought it was a routine server problem but after waiting for about a week I am suspecting AOL has a major problem but isn't too concerned because it is with Verizon accounts. Prove me wrong ALO!
