AOL mail is so far behind other services
Settings is a mess. It is hard to find what you want to change, if it is even available. Filters and folders is overly complicated and are very hard to set up, I have to move my email manually.
These are just a few of the problems. I have had an account since AOL first started, using a CD from Walmart. I only have it now because it is like a phone number, I have always tried to never change one if I can. But it is getting so bad that I am thinking of cancelling it. It will take me a very long time to do so, but it might be worth it in the end.
I know I am not alone. I hate to see companies go under, but I think that AOL is going that way. They have not been able to keep up with other services, even Yahoo, which is sad. I now wish I had gone to another service instead of here, even Earthlink. It might be gone, but my email address would updated to the new service without the leg work I will have to do so here.
Is AOL limiting the ability to let other services import our email because it would make it easier to switch to a better service? Hmmm, that thought just came to me. Although I still come to AOL to look at my email, others could keep using the address and never have to log in here.
