    Given all the recent problems with AOL, and your mergers, s there any good reason why I should not change my email to gmail instead of AOL?

    I have received a message from ldkm8892@verizon.net saying I can not access my AOL account after 5 August. Is this spam? I have had up to 571 spam emails in one afternoon and changed my passwords as recommended. How do I know this is legitimate.

    I also get notices from "AOL" in German.
