  1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!! I like the old format so much better. This is frustrating. Is there a way to get the old format back?

    I like the old format better. Please give us the option to have it back. Or post how to get to it now that we've tried the new one.

    New AOL Mail is all about efficiency and performance. The new look will allow you to enjoy a less cluttered interface, improved stability, and more responsiveness. Most features you know and love from Classic AOL Mail are present and we're adding more as we go!

  2. Webmail

    When I delete an email using AOL Desktop Gold, it is showing correct on AOL Desktop Gold, but when I try to check in webmail, I have to refresh the page in order to see the update. Before when I was deleting an email, it was automatically updating in webmail without having to refresh the page.

  3. Folder groups

    Product Support Responded to my Grouped email feedback by asking me to contact AOL as they wanted to look into the information. I went to Twitter and gee, the Messaging isn't working, there is a running post on that issue. So that avenue is stopped. I saw another Product Support tech had instructions for me to ungroup a Conversation, but the funny thing is I am using a DESKTOP computer, not a phone and the instructions do not apply to the online DESKTOP AOL email. There are not settings for conversations on the desktop. I am not the only user…

  4. There is no Mail setting on the list you refer to!

    You say to to to mail settings after selecting mail from options list. There is NO such setting there. If you give instructions, make them right.

  6. SPAM Folder time stamp

    Did a search for “SPAM Folder time stamp” and did not find an explanation.
    Therefore, Is the time stamp for an e-mail in the SPAM folder the time the sender/spammer sent the e-mail, or the time AOL put it in the SPAM folder?

  8. AOL Mail can be improved if support answers the question

    The question is about the TIMESTAMP (hh:mm am/pm) and not about when the entry is removed from the folder. Kowing what the TIMESTAMP displayed when viewing the folder provides the user a hint of who in their contact list may have malware on their device and can be warned.
    Again the question is about the TIMESTAMP of the entry, not about the retention of how long it stays.
    This is the 3rd time asking.

    Hi, the timestamp in your Spam folder shows the time when the email first arrived in your mailbox, not when it was moved to Spam. If the displayed time is incorrect, please contact us at help.aol.com and we'll look into it.

  10. imap folder limit 100k emails a bad idea

    Currently export.imap.mail.aol is limited to 100k. this is new. this is a huge problem for MANY of us PAID users that have way more than that 100k per folder. used to be 1M limit. that is ok. PLEASE change it back because many of us have many folders that exceed the limit and need to be able to offload our emails to our own local servers, and third party programs.

    i also tried to create new folders to get each folder under 100k BUT the copy function limits you to moving 1000 emails at a time (that is anotehr suggestion).

    Hi there. Our team is aware of this issue and is working to have it resolved. Try using our AOL app and webmail to access your account or redistribute your emails to less than 10K per folder. 

  11. Correct Folder Glitches via the More Actions Menu

    On my laptop, the More Actions menu suddenly does not list all of the folders that I have created over many years. Hence, I am unable to move important messages from Inbox to a folder whose title is no longer listed yet still exists, for example, a folder created many years ago to consolidate transfers from checking account. In addition, most folders do not appear when accessing AOL via Smartphone or Tablet, thereby forcing me to save messages by topic only from my laptop, which is inconvenient.   12. Bulk Mail

    A couple of years ago there was a spam folder. Then it got renamed to 'Bulk Mail' (about the time AOL seemed to start running on the Yahoo mail platform).
    This morning 2022-04-18, my email client started getting timeouts on 'Bulk Mail'. Logged on through mail.aol.com and found it was now named 'Bulk'. Was this deliberate? Another account still has a 'Bulk Mail'. When you change the names of the "built-in" folders, do you notify users? Will I soon find it named 'Bulk_Mail' because the embedded space became a problem in your mail server software?

    The Bulk folder is not a default folder in AOL Mail. If you're using third-party email apps to access your AOL emails, that folder would be linked to that particular email application. If you need additional help or you have questions, you can also contact us at help.aol.com

    If you're not seeing the ''+'' sign to create a new folder, it's possible your left side menu to be hidden/minimized. To increase its size, drag the margin to your right or double click the margin.

    You can delete folders  in AOL Mail. Hover over the folder you wish to delete, click the gear icon then click on Delete. In case you're not seeing the gear icon, that means the left side menu is minimized, you can drag its border to the right to maximize it.   15. How many days does an e-mail stay in the SPAM folder? Provide answer in HELP.

    Help, does not answer the question of "How many days an e-mail stays in the SPAM folder". Off and on, mail is put in the SPAM folder with no indicator/count. Would help if ones knows how often to check SPAM folder for non-SPAM mail put into the SPAM folder.

    By default, both the Trash and Spam folders empty automatically to keep your account tidy. You cannot change the Trash and Spam settings.


    Trash deletion frequency - Trash is deleted after 7 days.

    Spam deletion frequency - Spam is deleted after 30 days.

  16. First, I want to commend your Tech Support member, Kurt, who helped me through a nightmare this evening in cleaning up folders in my email.

    Commend Tech support representatives like Kurt from this evening and Chris from yesterday and some others.

    Not only did Kurt help move things into the proper folders, he also showed me ways to prevent this in the future. He took the time and used his expertise and experience in a professional and caring way to ensure that I was satisfied. What a great role model for customer service. He was respectful of both my time and my level of understanding at each step.

    Chris also provided good service and spent countless hours trying to moe things in different folders.

    Hi there,

    Can you switch to unified mailbox, by going to Options (top right corner), select Mail Settings then General>Inbox Style, select ‘’Use Unified Inbox style’’ then click Save settings. Please let us know of the issue persists.
