At all the ladies, I agree. Obnoxious. First I can't get into my mail, only the Main AOL "News" page & the one sided Republican love affair AOL has with the Trump and Russian Administration. That and the entertainment news which is not entertaining in the least. Whatever Kim Kardash does she can keep to herself. I'm an adult, I'd rather read about what's next after 2021.

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

at Barbara, the panties, I know, I've seen them too. Between Trumps hair and ***** adverts, I don't miss AOL at all.

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

It's horrible, isn't it ? There is no way to stop it, shorten it, shrink it let alone remove it. It's so distracting.I quite often forget what I'd started out looking for after sorting thru the 100 spam or not spam mails and after all that it will iterally stop a sale to one of *my* merchants because I've run out of patience - AND TIME. Silver lining ? For more than 1 week now I've been unable to access my AOL Mail account ever since I finally gotten my Outlook home & business acounts up and running after two solid years of trying after Verizon sold out. I was able to get into this area (thanks, Anonymous, for your generous amount of commenting :-) & great amount of sarcasm -lol) by following A's Link via my Outlook mail. I love Outlook, it functions like ----like-----an email account.

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

OH MY GOD, IT IS HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. I'VE NEVER , yes, i am yelling, SEEN ANYTHING MORE OBNOXIOUS IN MY LIFE ON LINE. I'M New to aol, not by choice, either. I had it in the very beginning and found it obnoxious then, it's only become worse. Looks like I will be stuck with Comcast.

Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, the Spam Settings customization, are no longer available for all accounts. We apologize for the inconvenience. In order to block a specific sender, go to Options – Mail Settings – Spam Settings and add the email addresses in the box below “Block Mail from Addresses I Specify”, then click Save Settings at the bottom, and in case you receive unwanted emails in the Inbox, mark them as Spam.

Where should I ask a question about Signing In issues ? Every single day, same problem.

First I loose 10 years of business emails and all of my Outlook accounts. Then I lose a professional set up for email and am forced to use this Kiddy version for email, aka, AOL. Now this ? Worst idea yet. Who has time to jump through those absurd hoops when when I don't have time to Block a real stalker, a hacker ? It's easier to report to FDA then my mail provider ? Reall?!: After a 2 week hiatus from email when I returned I found 6500K emails. Not including spam and "JUNK" where did junk come from ? Off to RCN.

All providers have this capability. I've never seen anything like this before. I have so many folders I've had to nickname the most important folders in alphabetical order Bought On Line Amz. to
BOL AZ 16, 17, Amz Ret. 19. I must have 30 folders just for shopping alone. I finally got my Outlook to function again, but it's a time consumer to get it to stay up and running. "The Server has rejected your settings". The same server that accepted them last Tuesday ?

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

huh, I'd already commented. They just don't care.

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

Agreed, it's not MS Outlook. not gonna happen. I have 50 folders, 7 of them for Amazon. Subfolders would create 1 Amazon folder w/6 subs. Same with Tax filing. No Taxes Folder. I have 2011, 2012, 2013 and it takes what feels like a lifetime to find the folder I actually need when I need it. Filing emails ? holy cow. I do that on sundays when I sort thru 3500 emails - 100's of them repeat spam.

    BostonHollyandSnoop supported this idea  ·
    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

I agree. Now I have 75 folders, many duplicates from the folder just above it. I have to list every single folder separately. I want my MS Home & Office w/Outlook back. It worked and I'd paid for it. AOL won't permit its children to use it bc it might spoil their appetite ? This "improved" system is an insult to adults.

Streamlined isn't the definition I would use. In the past, I'd be asked for user name. Then PW. Voila, right there into email. Now, I'm asked for user name, then password then questioned if i really want to sign out. Or stay signed in.
That's up to you AOL, I'd already made a decision when I chose to log in.

Why. no. bash. trump. every. day. holy cow. oh yes we know how long he's been in office. it gets more painful with each passing second. He is a disgrace as a human being, as a father as a 3rd time 'husband', he has no moral compass, he surrounds himself with liars cheaters and thieves, he cannot hold onto staff because "I love Chaos" 1/27/19 , i.e. he is mentally unstable. He is so unstable that we have no world allies remaining, no one respects the USA (not even citizens) and the rest of the Industrialized/Educated world detests him. As do the shithole countries. Everyone globally is well aware that because of an financially inept nincompoop we are facing a worldwide financial collapse; Environmental will be the least of our problems, he's guaranteed that -but for the under read, they go hand in hand. Russia's Pukin thinks The Donald is a joke but Pukin has an agenda (and Dump owes him a lot of dough) he needs Trump right now. He needs him until he doesn't and thus, Pukin "fakes it" . "**** isn't **** if you Like it" right ???That anyone can call that thing "president" dishonors and disgraces the position.of the USA President. I've been around a long long time, have been Registered Republican, Democrat. Independent, Libertarian. I have seen a lot of life and the world. I've had a lot of fun and more than my fair share of fear. But I never thought I'd live to see this. I hope I live long enough to see it rectified bc I sure have seen enough of ******-face.

I agree with all of those who are fed up with the disgusting Trump campaigning pushed by AOL. I too am readying to be rid of AOL. I never wanted it in the first place, it was forced upon me by Verizon.net when the sold out to AOL. To be a Red Hat supporting agent is their business, not mine. I was once a very tolerant person but not now, and I don't want this sickening stuff pushed down my throat when I just want my email. Which is , btw, the most unprofessional botch job on the net. I'm not interested in drugs, guns, *** with Russian or Chinese girls, a big *******, Viagra (boy lots of guys having trouble I take it, nor being harassed by fake FBI who want my money or I'll be heading to prison soon. The AOL Block is useless, particularly when I seem to be sending myself email about the aforementioned subjects.AOL doesn't read our complaints - bc - surprise ! They don't give a **** about what we think. We could be spared the spam if we pay for service. Really ? Pay for it ? LOL!! "You've Got Junk Mail! Tons and tons of Junk Mail preceded by Red Had Orange Fake News".

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

I am in 1000%+ agreement with you. I won't *consider* viewing AOL News nor using it for a Home Page or Browser for 2 obvious reasons. One is the pounding of users by abusive adverts spewed constantly in nanoseconds; it's unacceptable. The only way to avoid Right Wing Conservative (even the automobile adverts are Neo-N, Right Wing oriented) advertising, is to pay a fee- sounds about right. You *don't* want it ?Show us the money, screams big business. Oh, you *do* want it ? Show us the money, screams big business. Truth be told-some still believe in it, truth- the real reason I won't pay AOL a dime for anything nor will I use it for anything but what's been forced upon me by Verizon, I had no say in the decision, is because of AOL's transparent and obvious alliance to the New Right with obvious alliances to Fox Poo's, as well. Lousey email program w/zero features, useless Calendar Program w/features created for kids and parents with children, yes, i remember, AOLwas created for fun&families, not for serious users. The minute I can get free of Verizon/DSL, I'm gone. Mayor Wals won't "allow" installation of FIOS in MetroWest Boston Neighborhoods, We're not **** enough to have anything (poor enough). He allowed Verizon FIOS to be tested in some Markets, the most poverty stricken areas of the city, to ascertain demand. Of course no one signed up-people are loosing jobs and cannot afford FIOS in the areas being hard hit by Fed. Govt. involvement and so his test market failed. None of us woll be permitted to have FIOS as a result of Walshes' backwards test. Sorry to the good folks for my droning on. I'm just fed up with being ruled by an incompetent Federal Government which has put its nasty fingers into every facet of my life; Less Govt.? No, the Fed. Govt. has become more involved in minutia than I have ever experienced in a 40 year lifetime of working full time or more. And every time the SwampScum touch anything, it turns to rot, and in so doing, destroys another piece of any home for financial security.

I know I know (hand waving in air) . This calendar has reverted back to the original calendar created back when ALO was a new ISP and Browser combined. It was created for fun, families. It was ot used by businesses. AOL is not for the Light user and tho, my having read 100's of user complaints, it's apparent that, at one time, AOL attempted to finesse their email and calendar systems to attract more serious/business users (I'm guessing, I don't know I used MS). If my guess is correct, my next guess w/b that AOL didn't hire the proper IT to manage it and they could not provide the services necessary to maintain that edge and fell behind. Again, guessing, it seems that they have reverted to their "comfort zone" , the fun loving old style of doing things, promoting services more to families with children which is useless to working people who need something with more functional detail beyond "you've got mail" spam, Birthdays & Holidays. I don't want or need talking animated mail or calendars with ice cream cones. I want MS Outlook.

good idea. However, I'd rather not have the automatic option on the other end a "read" receipt sent unless I so chose it- Verizon provided this option. For instance I do not want our useless Trustees in the joke of an HOA to see that I've forwarded mail to my attny. nor do I want their Band Of Thieves , Absolutely Zero Property Management Services to have access to the same "Read" receipt.

everyone keeps saying they are migrating away for the same reasons I wish I'd never been orphaned over to AOL, but no one ever provides any answers to "where". I have not found a single provider which allows use of MSN Products. I've lost use of my verizon.net files from 2013- now. For some reason AOL has allowed some of my past folders to show in Outlook. the year 2013. But I cannot get or send email using any of the settings they provided. My AOL nor Verizon passwords work using the incoming and outgoing mail settings in combination with the port setting they've provided. Nor will Norton protect those updated ports.

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

Where would you go, Joe ?l & Steve, I follow you too. I, also, am looking for a new provider. Having been orphaned by Verizon Email Dept, which I'd had since the 1980's. I liked verizon email because it allowed MS Business Products like Office. When pushed over to AOL we were promised that nothing would change, that my Outlook accounts would still function with some minor settings tweaks which of course was total BS- it was trickery. I'm still stuck with Verizon as ISP for copper landline & fax w/DSL (ugl). We cannot get FIOS in Boston, our Mayor who is destroying us with Property Tax increases won't "permit" FIOS in 99% of Boston. I've check out the prices of Comcast & RCN, no need for 5000 TV Chann.s nor mobile. All I want is functioning LL, Fax /Fiber Optics/Cable & the choice of providers for use with MS Products into which Iv'e made prior investments and also where my business folders between 1997-2016 (as well as personal photos &email addys) have lived. If I'd wanted AOL in 1997 I would have chosen AOL. I used it for a month & realized it was light use for families (*You've Got Mail* No Kidding? "I'm A Business") Steve ? Joe ?

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

In fact, please allow those of us forced over from Verizon to allow "block" of spammers as well. I get more spam which should be blocked and not sent as spam 500x's per week from "view message source" that would make your hair and eyes curl. Blocking Senders the "AOL WAY" by using the Block Sender Directions - first find the link, then stumbling around the convoluted directions and requirements adding absurd details that the original post didn't include- is so extraordinarily inefficient that I usually have lost the address I had intended to block or have altogether forgotten what I'm attempting to accomplish in the first place and give up. If I get it right, twice, it doesn't always work. It's such as waste of time it's the equivalent of working for the Federal Government during a shutdown. Ooops, I forgot we're in Trumpland aren't we...OF COURSE IT doesn't work properly and no wonder my grammar is all screwed up RIGHT ?

AOL does not care about us. Perhaps if we paid them (they are so underfunded waaaaaa) for nothing we'd be better cared for but that's not going to happen. Why ? I don't trust them at all. In fact the more I select "this is Spam" the more of the filthy sick stuff I receive -I get so much horrible disgusting spam about hard-ons (or not), ******'s, FuckBooks, and Drugs I can buy the more AOL let's slip in. I believe that logarithms are watched , not to protect us, but to sell our email addresses. Kind of like Amazon does on a regular basis, again over this past weekend. I've just bought my first iMac and iPad, I am wondering if it will make any difference, getting away from microsoft, Windows, android.

    BostonHollyandSnoop commented  ·

I, too, am no longer able to block anything without a huge hassell - I can't remember every written word of the email I want to block. The hackers are smart and write in code, for God's sake, AOL. Can you folks do anything for us which is also user friendly ?

**** YEAH, I'm looking at Comcast, RCN, anything that's out there bc I still have a landline but am stuck with Verizon DSL because Verizon corporate and Boston Politics can't work out a deal in which *both* entities can stick it to the consumer and make money equally. The mayor wants more for the City and Verizon wants more for the Verizon, - the end result: MetroWest is not permitted to have FIOS so not only do I pay $100/mo for DSL and copper, I am asked to pay an additional $10 to AOL ? Hey Mayor- stop raising my property taxes yet reduction of service s to providing zero service to Metro West Boston. Verizon, get your act together. Yes, I'm all for Class Action. As a single woman being robbed by every arm of govt. including condo associations supported by local government, *somebody's* got to help me. Condo fees go up and there are no govt. laws protecting owners against unethical HOA's. They can take our condo away for missed fee holdbacks, conversely do not have to provide services for monthly fees collected. It all ties into big city govt. and big corporations. They all want their chunk from little old ladies -so do the Feds.

By continually using the Not Spam button, you are training your spam filter and our systems to recognize important emails. Additionally, if you are using an email application, like Outlook, Mac Mail, Windows Mail, or the mail app on your mobile device, please check the incoming mail filters in the application’s settings, and change the filters, so that all new emails are kept in the Inbox.

In order to block incoming emails from an entire domain, go to mail.aol.com – Options – Mail Settings – Spam Settings – and add the domain name (e.g. @example.com) inside the “Block Mail From Addresses I Specify” field, click the plus button, then Save Settings.
