AOL/Verizon Mail —
I use AOL/Verizon e-mail. To receive my mail I use Outlook (Mac) for my desktop email client. My setting is to NOT leave a copy of my mail on the server. Up until this week that worked fine.
Now rather then follow the instruction the AOL server leaves a copy in the trash. This is unacceptable because, if I got into my I-phone mail or my iPad mail all the trash items download into my email application. This uses up my data plan and causes a lot of extra work to delete the trash items that total in the hundreds on any given day.
In short it costs me money and time which is unacceptable. This problem must be fixed. If the problem can’t be fixed I will terminate my 30 year relationship with Verizon.
Check the Incoming mail server settings in your email application, and make sure they match the IMAP/POP settings in the section titled “Update server settings” from the following help article: https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-set-up-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-verizon-net-mail
The incoming and outgoing mail servers require SSL enabled for all ports, and also the username field in the account setup, needs to contain your full email address, including @verizon.net at the end.
In case your server settings are correct, open the link below (and sign in if necessary), and make sure the option “Allow apps that use less secure sign-in” is turned ON.
https://login.aol.com/account/security
After this turning ON this option, check if your mail application is able to connect. If the problem persists, verify if the “Two-step verification” option on the Account Security page (the URL above) is turned ON or OFF.
In case this feature is turned ON, you will have to create a unique application-specific password for each one of your email applications, by following the steps from the section titled “How do I set up 2-step verification?” from the following article: https://help.aol.com/articles/2-step-verification-stronger-than-your-password-alone

Why is there no way to report technical problems? AOL Internet website will not load using Safari/Apple products. My IPad or IPhone without App.

This afternoon I got an email from a site that I had unsubscribed from over a year ago. Something's seriously wrong.

Today I got 6 emails on my phone but they never showed up on my desktop system. The two are linked (I use Outlook) and this problem occasionally happens. Then, this afternoon, my desktop system said that I have 21 unread emails but, in fact, I have none. I then logged in to my AOL account and saw the 21 messages - I had read them all and some of them went back 5 months. So, I read them all and then went back to Outlook which still told me that I have 21 unread messages. I'm really annoyed that there's no way to talk or live chat with someone at AOL.
