My contact list vanished, aol help could not fix it.
clicking restore gave a message that restore was not available. What do I do now?

The only reason I kept my AOL account was so that I could access information that I save in contacts. Now I can't call that information up, even when I look up the contact. If you can fix this great. If you can't I might as well rebuild my info somewhere else.
