I want control of my own computer. AOL's nose doesn't belong in my business or my computer any more than it already is.
I'll monitor my own identity, thank you. I don't need a password manager. I've assembled my own complement of independent security software that covers my needs. I especially don't want to be locked into more software I can't install independently, integrate with my other software, test and evaluate, and uninstall at will without messing up my computer or getting into a tangle with the status of my AOL access. By the way, I read the computer repair insurance offer terms... and they are lousy. I haven't particularly found the AARP benefit of use yet, and I've had that for several years. The only thing I've found "somewhat" useful is having the tech support available, which I may have to use again since my AOL Desktop Gold oddly seems to be "hanging" (stalling) recently. I'd like a more controllable/modifiable AOL browser-- that would be a great option.
