MY KIA OPTIMA 2013 JUST HIT 15000 AND THE MOTOR BLEW. SO I CALLED FOR A RECALL AND THEY TOLD ME IF THEY WORK ON IT AND FIND OUT ITS NOT PART OF THE RECALL THEN ID HAVE TO PAY 160 A HR. PLUS PARTS. SO AS FOR ME IM LEFT WITH OUT A CAR AND I WOULDN'T EVER BUY ANOTHER KIA. IM GOOD GUESS I'LL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER CAR WITH PAYMENTS.. RITE AT XMAS TIME.. GUESS ILL TRY A FORD THIS TIME. SCOTT REMILLARD

Thanks for writing in, and sorry to hear about your car. I know that Kia does have a recall for that year/model where connecting rods can seize due to an issue with debris in the bearings. The recall work can be as extensive as replacing the entire engine block. You may want to double check, using your VIN, to make sure you are eligible for the recall. The dealer can do this. If so, perhaps an independent mechanic can confirm if the issue started with your connecting rods. If so, you’d have a great case for replacement by the dealer. Of course in any of these cases, it will take a bit of money on your part to investigate.

WISH SOME ONE WOULD REPLACE MY MOTOR IN MY 2013 KIA OPTIMA.. SAD RITE AT XMAS TIME WITH KIDS GOTTA BUY A NEW CAR I DON'T HAVE A CAR AND GOTTA GET TO HEART DOCTOR BECAUSE I HAD HEART SURGERY.
