I think your interpretation of what's an acceptable comment is too narrowly focused. If someone comments that "I don't have a clue", how is it wrong if I say their clueless? Being civil doesn't mean you can't be hyperbolic. I can understand if you don't want to upset one political party, but you don't do that by violating my 1st amendment rights. I have the right to defend my position. If I say Trump is like a broken clock because he's only right twice a day, it isn't right to imply that that's inflammatory rhetoric. Is it hyperbolic? Maybe. I know people who think he isn't right that often. My point is: Don't stifle debate. Comment sections are little debates. Please learn how to be reasonable.
