Comments are a "must have"!!

I am unable to post comments

By requiring personal identifying information when leaving a comment, it will make it easier for this administration to keep track of those who disagree with them resulting in Donald Trump's promised retribution, like interfering with our ability to vote.

Makes one wonder if this administration is, once again, using censorship to quiet those who do not agree with them. I had noticed fewer and fewer MAGA folks posting comments, apparently having altered their opinion about this corrupt and incompetent administration.

Free speech is again being highly restricted. Soon there will be no news outlets except the government mouth piece. Just the one. Humanity is on the brink of complete censorship. 1984.

One of the good things about AOL was the availability of commenting on News stories, even when the AI tried to prevent cooments that were reasonable, sometimes putting a comment was a harmless bit of fun, Freedom to comment on news stories was a magentic advantage of AOL.

Not being able to comment on AOL or AI/AOL stories may end up killing this as a news source for me. One example, not AOL was in the description of the WA Longview chemical incident that LYE, the sodium family was acidic when it is an extremely caustic alkaline material, often used in the middle ages to present to melt the flesh off the dead and or to sterilize plague victims deaths.

The comment section was what I enjoyed most on AOL!!

Twenty five year member and my view is now being censored. Well they are sure to support free press due to some of the articles that they post! Just censor my free will to respond. Gmail here I come.

Paying AOL members for 3 decades and suddenly with zero cause I might add....we're cut off from all comments at the end of AOL articles! Censorship without a cause! Time to cease paying. Any good suggestions, please...

Same thing for me on my laptop...AOL has been a right wing "villages" cesspool since it was bought by appollo management in 2021. Good riddance...

Might be time to switch to something besides AOL.

For the record AOL is owned by Verizon. Maybe it is time to find a new Cellular company run by adults rather than a company run by a particular point of view. PS. I am one of the first to sign up for cell service in the country back in the early days before Verizon bought many out. Maybe time to move on.

Why bother to have a "See Comments" button if, when you click on it, AOL does not show any comments.....or allow making any?

Show comments again and allow us to comment

Please consider bringing back comments. We are all adults and should be able to view/respond to other people's opinions. As with life, if we don't agree, we can keep scrolling or voice our own opinion. We should all be aware that we won't be changing anyone else's opinion. Sometimes we just need to vent!
