Login issues
Dear AOL!
Login issue
At login, AOL presents: “You will scan a QR code to sign in with a passkey”. When I click the QR Code, I am presented with a case for a flash drive where the QR code is supposed to be, and a passkey to create.
I do not see any QR code to scan, And the passkey I have created is accepted by my other browsers, mobile phone etc. How come AOL does not provide passkey fill out spaces for me to type in my passkey numbers? This all a complete waste of my valuable time even after providing my email address and password. Even after this I cannot still login but to go to my Gmail address to retrieve a 6-digit code sent there by AOL. And then come back to the login page to enter the digits in the spaces provided before I can access my mail.
The passkey I created is accepted by my other browsers and mobile devices. Why doesn't AOL provide the spaces just as other apps for me to enter my passkey numbers? This process seems to be a waste of my time, even after I have provided my email address and password. I am still unable to log in without going to my Gmail to retrieve a 6-digit code sent by AOL and then returning to the login page to enter the code before, I can gain access my emails. Why is this necessary? This instead results in a significant amount of time wasted, before I am allowed access into AOL to read my mail. Why all this trouble. Is it worth it whether it is 2 way verification or not. This does not ensure security, but a lot of wasted time.
