Multiple Issues with New Email
I am listing most of the issues with the new email that I find aggravating, confusing or needlessly complicated
1) Address Book--seems to sort by default to First Name. WHen I switch it to Last Name, it eventually loses my sort and reverts to First Name
2) Address Book---why is "delete" not there when you are reading an email from someone and their info is in the sidebar. Even if you click on Edit, the "delete" option is not there
3) EMAIL---I have an auto sign to my emails that is my name and address. If I delete that manually, by highlighting it and clicking "delete" on my computer keyboard, about one out of 4 times the cursor vanishes in the email and I have to click again to get it back where it should be
4) EMAIL Attachments---even if we drag a file to be an attachment, AOL now inserts it into the body of the email instead of a true attachment
5) Email Folders---folders do not show the # of emails in each folder...like New, Old, Sent, Spam
6) Email subject line----I often send emails without Subject. AOL now EVERY TIME gives me a message "are you sure you want to ???" ......give me the ability to disable this option now that you have forced it upon me
7) Email attachments I receive--when replying to an email sent to me with attachments, the attachments disappear
8) OLD Mail view-- often shows the wrong year at the top. I have emails going back to 2017 and 2017 shows even when today's emails are at top
9) SPAM deleting large # of emails--I sometimes receive 1000s of emails in SPAM in a single day from EBAY. I want these emails in SPAM for reasons I am not going to explain. I need to delete these emails and I do 1000-2000 at a time. OFTEN, the deletion is not 100% successful and leaves behind 100s of emails I have already deleted. In some cases, I have had to delete the same emails 3-4 times before they stop reappearing.
10) Email composing---I want to be able to compose an email in a window that is all its own
11) SPAM accessibility---I HAAAAAAATE that you have disabled content/links in SPAM emails to the point that they have to be moved to a different folder to be accessible !! Then the emails I originally had set to go to SPAM--because that's what I wanted---now start landing in my New Mail folder where I don't want them. I hate this change. We are grown ups and don't need you making this decision for us. Plus there is no way to disable it----meaning AOL's change making SPAM content inaccessible---which I find ridiculous.
12) Email recipient--when I send an email, the person's name shows as an icon. I don't want an icon. Sometimes I want to copy their email address which I cannot do now that AOL has forced me to have icons as my addressees rather than actual text
13) Email--- CANNOT SELECT A QUOTE FROM RECEIVED EMAIL
many times, I want to respond to a certain statement in an email I receive...for 25+ years, I could select it, hit Reply and that highlight/excerpt would appear at the top of the email. Now .....stopped working
14) Email Reading---CANNOT OPEN AN EMAIL IN ITS OWN WINDOW
like it used to do
15) Email Reading then gone----
when I respond to an email, it disappears and is now auto put into Old Mail. I want the message to remain visible like it has been for 25+ years
there are many more complaints and issues but I have limited time to devote to explaining why this change is a pain **********.
