How to set up a second account.
I am trying to set up a second email account. I thought it would be easy for this 80 year old computer illiterate. Apparently I am wrong.
By using chat I was told I could set up a second account and use my existing one and have security codes sent to it. That did not work, and a call to 1-800-827-6364 said I would need to buy a mobile phone. Based on that phone call AOL only wants to do business with mobile phone users. Is that correct?

In the current version of AOL you are required to provide a mobile phone number to protect your online safety. It's important to have updated information should you ever need to change your account settings, reset your password or contact AOL customer support.
