Requiring new login to an ongoing session WIPES OUT the search tabs
Did I say thank you for the search tabs? Thank you for the search tabs. I hope you are still improving this option. Now that my mail is overrun with spam (thanks for that) the saved searches in tabs comes in handy. So what do you do next?....
You implement a new mid-session login requirement - while I'm ALREADY logged in - in the middle of an ongoing/active session! The result? All my search tabs, which represent placeholders in the work I'm doing, disappear. I really wish the tech folks would STOP trying to save me from myself. There is no world in which YOU know better than ME what my top priorities are. eMail is a tool, often the most inefficient and unstable one I have. I'm glad you at least take me back to my inbox, but you definitely don't take me back to what I was doing. And since I'm not using a public computer and I don't allow anyone else to use my laptop or other devices, I'd thank you not to try to save me from my own better judgement. When I'm done, I'll log out. When I don't log out, guess what - I'm not done.
AOL, you need to fix this.
And while you're at it, it would help to have an arrow/scroll function to move left and right through the search tabs. The more you add, the first few disappear into the left margin, only visible again if I close the more recent searches. This is counter to my productivity.
Another helpful thing related to searches would be the ability to drag and drop search tabs (as with browser tabs) so I can order them in a way that facilitates my objectives.
Thank you. I am glad you keep trying to improve AOL. Its just very frustrating when changes are rushed and obviously not well thought-out. Just as it is frustrating when the design is changed in such a way that it REMOVES options instead of simply providing additional options. There is definitely something to muscle memory, and that is a big part of the reason people don't appreciate changes especially in the TOOLS they use. This makes the human less efficient. There is a better way to make improvements to a product that doesn't involve derailing and alienating your customers.
