NOTE: I have noticed for years that Aol does not log you out of your mail automatically when you are not active. I think that as long as AOL has been around and for security purposes, they should incorporate an auto log out feature to protect your security and email accounts. I called AOL technical support and advised them to see if there was a solution for this and they said NO they don't automatically log you out of account! This could potentially jeopardize your security if you happen to forget to logout on any device that you use your AOL email...it stays OPEN to risk!
