I am trying to get Thunderbird to sync the default folders but it keeps making an extra spam folder in the trash folder
I have gotten the Spam folder stuck in the Trash folder on the Thunderbird Email client. I'm not sure why it keeps coming back. I have tried uninstalling Thunderbird, added and removing the account from it several times, and tried linking and unlink the account on my main AOL account settings directly in the privacy and security area. To the point that you automated system is giving me flack like I'm hacking my own account. It's me I'm in Danville, check your **** logs sometimes.
There is some kind of error going on with a ghost folder that appears to be stuck in the trash can, and it's not a copy if the spam folder, it's the real spam folder. On the AOL website a folder called Junk keeps showing up down at the bottom below Archive and I have a feeling that is the problem. I didn't create that folder on purpose and I think it's a side of effect of moving the folder position in Thunderbird around and it allowed me to throw the spam folder away. Now it's created some kind of error or feedback loop or there is some kind of restriction in place that I have no control of. How can I put the folder in the Trash but not be able to take it back out? In Thunderbird that is? I followed the help guide on their forum and that only works until I restart Thunderbird.
So now no matter what i do this spam folder can not be set back to normal. When I exit and re-open Thunderbird it just syncs with the server and any progress I made to make the list default again is reverted and I end up with two spam folders and bulk folder sometimes as well. This problem creates a persistent folder on my side that I have to remove system permissions for all users to stop the Bulk folder aka Spam aka Junk. Like I said this is frustrating as can be. How does this not get fixed after 30+ years of internet business? That woman CEO just tore this company down, what a shame.
With the file system waked out like this I never see the spam that I get. On the AOL mail page though, there is nothing left to erase. Every message is gone, all the spam is cleaned up, etc. This one folder is really getting on my nerves. I'd like some help from someone there to go in and fix the recurring Junk folder that acts like it's also the Main Junk Mail folder at the same time. It's such a wacky problem I'm having trouble describing it exactly what's happening
I doubt I'll get any help with this I just wanted to let you know your sync system has some issues for imap mail settings for email clients like Thunderbird. It has to do with the way the account is synced apparently. Seems people have to go through the process of deauthoriziing my PC and and reestablishing the link just to see it revert back to the messed up state. No matter if I delete the Junk file from the profile folder on my PC or if i erase the "New" Junk folder that keeps showing up online like a new folder below Archives. Every thing else is normal and empty other than the persistent Spam folder that I assume my PC keeps sending to your server and vice versa calling it Junk and some Bulk and others times Junk-1. Any spam basically goes into a sub folder of trash which is the real spam folder. and I'd like it to not do that. It didn't do that when until recently when I was moving the order of the folders list in Thunderbird.
Like I said I did erase the entire program and hunted down the files on my end in the profile folder and the Thunderbirds install directory. I can't tell if the issue is my PC or the Sync process with the AOL mail server.
