RTL not working on RTL languages when composing!
RTL Hebrew Text Formatting Issue – Exclamation Mark Appears on the Wrong Side
Hello AOL Mail Support,
I would like to report a formatting issue when writing emails in Hebrew (RTL language).
When I type a Hebrew word followed by an exclamation mark, the exclamation mark appears on the wrong side of the word. Instead of being positioned according to the right-to-left direction of Hebrew text at the left of the word, it is displayed incorrectly on the right of the.
For example:
Wrong:\
שלום!
Correct:\
שלום! 1
If you take the incorrect word and paste it into the Basic version, you'll see it appears correctly, whereas in the standard version, it appears incorrectly—just as it is here.
The exclamation mark is displayed incorrectly relative to the Hebrew text direction.
I have also tried using the Right Align option in the toolbar, but this does not resolve the issue. I also tried using Ctrl + Shift + Right, which normally forces right-to-left text direction and works in other applications, but it has no effect in AOL Mail's current interface.
Interestingly, this problem does not occur in the Basic version of AOL Mail. In the Basic version, RTL text works correctly and even automatically switches between RTL and LTR depending on the language of the letters being typed. This behavior is similar to what works correctly in Gmail.
This suggests that the issue may be related to RTL text direction and automatic bidirectional text handling in the current version of AOL Mail.
It should be noted that the problem did not exist prior to the last AOL Mail update about two months ago.
Please investigate this issue and consider implementing the same RTL/bidirectional text behavior.
Thank you for your assistance.
