Unable to delete an autofill email address from my Contacts even with AOL phone technical support...As all reasonable solutions were tried, a general system update may be necessary in case others are experiencing this as well.

A good phone tech support rep - we at least got the correct email address to come up at the top of the autofill list when I begin to type the email address.
