Neutrality in the media is a myth. The question is does the media support our form of government or are they willing to bend the knee to politicians who do not want to have a citizen powered democracy. The press was given a role in the Constitution to provide truthful information. They were given protections and rights so that they could do that. This was done because citizens need truthful information about their government and it's actions so that in a democracy they can make informed votes to determine who is elected to be in their government. Their are many forces in our government and society that do not want power to reside with the citizens. When the news media does not do it's given job of providing truthful information about the government and it's actions, it makes it much easier for those forces that work against citizens having the power to succeed in taking power from them.
