    I completely agree with Marie J's post which covered all my own complaints.

    However, I spoke with AOL yesterday about this issue. AOL apparently considers this side panel an "upgrade," not an ad.

    Now I can't minimize the left side pane. The viewing area of messages has shrunk to nearly 1/2 the size of the space, being crowded by the two side panes.
