Can’t access email - I have an iPhone 8 - not able to access iOS17

8-31-2026 Hello, I have been a customer with AOL since your company took over the accounts for Verizon.net.

I just tried to access my email on the AOL account and a pop up stated I need to us iOS17 or higher.

I can only access my emails through my iPhone 8, which is only iOS16.7.16.

Please help. I am not able to access emails, anymore.

My financial institution, M & T Bank also did this where they went to the iOS17 and then they realized there were many valued clients with older iPhones where those clients were not able to access the M & T mobile app, thus the customer ratings for M & T Bank dropped dramatically.

Since then M & T Bank modified their app from iOS17 back to the iOS16 so those clients with the older iPhones can now access the M & T mobile app.

Please consider switching back to the iOS16.

I have no other way of checking my emails anymore. I have (2) email accounts with AOL.

    As of 9/8, I can access my email using an iPhone8. Thank you AOL for quickly resolving the problem.

    I was using AOL to read my email, got off & now can’t get back on. I am running IOS 26 but the app says I need 17. This is on my IPad. What do I do?

    Have same problem with an iPhhone 8. Please fix the problem for us many users who have been with AOL for many years. Thank you

    I have the same problem and I see a lot of people saying they have this problem. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and it works for a day 😂 I’m doing this so I can access my emails and change them back to gmail where I never had to worry about this

    Same problem. I also have an iPhone 8 since Verizon took me screaming and kicking away from my flip phone. As a customer I go back to my first mobile with Nynex before changing to Verizon, and with AOL for over 25 years. Please fix this. Change for the sake of change is not always improvement. Remember, computers are only as smart as the people programming them.
