The autoscrolling main stories need a pause button.
The main stores autoscroll so fast, and have no pause button, I feel like I am wrestling with the scroll arrows just to try and ready the one line headline in time before it disappears. This actually causes me stress every time I visit the site and therefore makes for an unpleasant experience. I visit no other website that has a fast, autoscrolling lead story slideshow like that. Please provide a pause button, or stop it from autoscrolling.
Hi. The main story carousel on the home page has a pause function that occurs when you click the left or right advance button. Thanks for the feedback. Please let us know if you have any other suggestions.

When navigatng main page of AOL for the news the large right arrow works by allowing you to move forward thru the news article headlines but the left large arrow when pressed does not take you backward but instead presents you with a list of AOL departments instead of scrolling backwards through the pages. This is not what you want to do at this point in time. Then the Pause, next and sometimes sound icons in the Control bar in the article are obscured or useless. One has to basically start over after the very annoying experience of not having a contol bar that functions.

That is a stupid answer. The auto-advance is very bothering. Please fix it!

And NO, that does not work.I have come across two different homepages. One page that works. The second one shows notifications and if you use the advance button, it has no effect. I always delete browser and cache. So that is not an answer. I have not been able to get back to the page where that works.
